Grace Fisk scored twice as Liverpool beat newly-promoted Charlton in the Women's Super League at The Valley.

Charlton goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse could only push Cornelia Kapocs' cross into danger and it fell to Liverpool captain Fisk who was able to prod home from a few yards out after eight minutes.

Whitehouse made a superb double save to deny Ceri Holland from close range as Liverpool dominated proceedings.

Vivien Endemann, making her league debut after joining from Wolfsburg in the summer, cut the ball back to Fisk who curled a strike into the top corner from the edge of the box to double Liverpool's lead.

Endemann fired an effort in at the near post to make it 3-0 after 52 minutes.

Ashleigh Neville fouled Natalia Ramos in the box in stoppage time and Kapocs sent the resulting penalty into the bottom right corner with Whitehouse diving the wrong way.

Victory over Charlton in their opening fixture is already an improvement for Liverpool compared to last season when they failed to win any of their first 13 matches.
