Mo Fuseini scored his first Derby County goal in the third minute of stoppage time to deny Burnley their first league win and keep them rooted to the bottom of the Championship.

Burnley were just seconds away from climbing above Derby in the table thanks to Zeki Amdouni's opener when Fuseini struck at Turf Moor to leave the Clarets still waiting for their first three points since February 11.

The draw will only increase the pressure on manager Nicky Hayen, who had admitted the basement battle was "must win" for his side, and dropped Kyle Walker.

Derby will feel they deserved a point before Ghanian midfielder Fuseini, a deadline day loan signing from Belgian side Union St Gilloise, netted on his fourth Rams appearance.

The Rams, who have now not won in four games and are 22nd in the table, should have opened the scoring when Joe Ward swung over a corner to the back post, only for Sanderson to head the ball back across goal.

Burnley had done nothing before they capitalised on some slack Derby defending to score on 34 minutes when Amdouni lost David Ozoh to head home a Lucas Pires corner from close range.

Back came Derby and Anel Ahmedhodzic cleared Sam Szmodics's goalbound shot before Connor Roberts made a critical block to deny Bobby Clark.

The Rams kept up the pressure and Gregoire Coudert, making his Championship debut in place of the dropped Max Weiss, saved well from an angled shot from Ozoh.

Ryan Hedges then dragged a shot wide when he should have done better before Largie Ramazani twice went close at the other end in the space of a minute.

Jamie Vardy came on for his home debut and just when Burnley thought they had crawled over the finishing line, Derby equalised.

The Rams broke upfield and Rhian Brewster fed fellow substitute Fuseini to score with a low strike into the bottom corner.

Burnley manager Nicky Hayen told BBC Radio Lancashire

Will you be given time to turn things around? "I hope so, I don't know. I understand the frustration of the fans. I understand they're really disappointed, also in myself, that they're fuming. So I completely understand that.

"I know how it goes in football, but I've said also there are a lot of reasons and you take this into account or you don't. That's up to other people to decide and it's easy to see from the outside towards the players. If we have 11 players, everyone thinks they are fit and fresh and ready to go at 100%, but the reality is sometimes different.

"But I know I cannot claim a lot at the moment. I know I'm responsible for it and, OK, if they make the decision that it's not good enough, then we'll see.

"I'm resilient. I'm a fighter. I will keep on fighting and I'm 100% sure we can turn it around, but we'll see what happens."

Derby manager John Eustace told BBC Radio Derby:

"We're delighted for Mo; what a fantastic finish! We knew he could come on today and make an impact and we're delighted he did.

"I thought we deserved more out of the game. I thought our effort was excellent. Burnley obviously want to dominate possession and get in some really awkward areas and positions.

"But we knew the longer we stayed in the game, we'd get opportunities and I thought the draw is the least we deserved.

"We created some fantastic chances and I'm delighted to stop the run of three defeats, but I'm also frustrated that we couldn't take all three points."
