As an Arsenal fan I would be happy to see Rodri go for selfish reasons. So so good at what he does and makes City infinitely better when on the pitch. Romero I'll be gutted to see go. Absolute liability, comically so. Hindered Spurs as much as he helped them.

The Argentina international, 28, who signed a new four-year deal at Spurs last August, is expected to leave the club this summer.
There has also been interest from Inter Milan in signing the 28-year-old, who played all seven matches in Argentina's run to the World Cup final last month, where they lost to Spain.
But Romero is a long-term target for Atletico manager Diego Simeone, with the Spanish side believed to be pressing ahead with another attempt to sign the centre-back.

Spurs boss Roberto de Zerbi recently said he would "respect the will" of players if they wanted to leave.
Romero missed the end of last season with a knee injury as Spurs avoided relegation on the last day.
He was sent off twice last season as Spurs finished 17th.

That's wild about Romero to Arsenal. Considering his age and profile, you wonder if that means something more serious for Saliba than first thought. You don't enquire about Romero to sit him on the bench.

Fabrizio Romano reports, external that Arsenal (yes, Spurs' arch-rivals Arsenal) have made inquiries this week about Romero's availability, but says Spurs prefer to sell abroad.

The Netherlands international defender joined from Wolfsburg in 2023 on a six-year agreement that runs until 2029.
BBC Sport understands Van de Ven was considering his future in north London before the appointment of Roberto de Zerbi in March.
The arrival of the Italian manager, who helped keep Spurs in the Premier League, has been crucial in the 25-year-old's decision to seek new terms.
"It's really good that you can see the club has made some changes," Van de Ven told BBC Sport in July.
"You can see the club has a new ambition. It's something that's really important for players who have been here for a long time.
"Last season was a stressful season, unacceptable from our side, so to leave all of that behind and go into the new season fresh means a lot."

He’s been absolutely stunning at City, but respect his decision to go if he does. I think his game suits Barca better with the way the Premier League has gone, with constant low blocks. With a striker Barca would be Champions League winners, hope Kane joins too.

Approaching the second week of August and City have only signed one player, Elliot Anderson, who is likely to be in the first XI this season.
The fee paid to Nottingham Forest for the England international is a club record £116m, with the 23-year-old seemingly a replacement for Bernardo Silva, who departed at the end of his contract and joined Real Madrid.
Teenage winger Jeremy Monga may be given playing time in the academy after joining from Leicester, while goalkeeper Pierce Charles and winger Mathys Detourbet both immediately went out on loan after joining.
New boss Enzo Maresca said on Tuesday that director of football Hugo Viana and chief executive Ferran Soriano had both travelled to South Korea, where the team are currently spending pre-season, and the Italian admitted "we need to do something" in regards to transfers.
Though there is an acknowledgement that they have not been as active as they would have liked, senior City sources say they are "relaxed" about the situation and have full "trust" in their transfer strategy.
It has been pointed out that Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi were long-term targets and were signed in January, deals that were brought forward from this summer and both have made a positive impact.
The squad is seen to be "young" and "exciting", one which claimed both domestic cups last season, with 20-year-old Brazilian Vitor Reis returning after a season-long loan at Girona and expected to be past of the first-team.
There is interest in Chelsea's Pedro Neto, while talks are ongoing for Lille's Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi and Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.
Despite the lack of movement, there remains an air of calmness around the hierarchy at the Etihad.

Image source, Getty ImagesWinger Jeremy Doku is the latest Manchester City player to commit his future to the club after signing a new contract until 2031.
Belgium international Doku joined City from Rennes for £55.4m in 2023 and sources have told BBC Sport the 24-year-old will extend his stay at Etihad Stadium, with an official announcement expected next week.
Doku played 48 times for City last season, scoring eight goals, to help the side win both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in Pep Guardiola's final season in charge.
He becomes the fourth City player to sign a contract extension this summer after midfielder Phil Foden and defenders Josko Gvardiol and Abdukodir Khusanov all agreed new terms.

Image source, Getty ImagesMidfielder Nico Gonzalez joined City from Porto for £50m last January but has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place.
The 24-year-old played 41 times in all competitions last season and scored a stunning winner in the FA Cup semi-final victory over Southampton, but he was in and out of the team for much of the campaign.
So far this pre-season, Gonzalez has played in both friendly matches, against Inter Milan and the K-League XI.
There were suggestions City may look to let him leave after just 19 months at the club, but the player himself has dismissed such suggestions.
"I'm happy here," said Gonzalez when asked about his future. "I don't want to leave and I think the club wants me to stay. I haven't seen anything but I'm happy here.
"When I play I think I do a really good job. A good example was the semi-final of the FA Cup when I did a good match. Every chance I got, I tried my best.
"The final of the FA Cup I was out but we won so it was an amazing day for me. If we win, I'm happy. My dream is to win trophies.
"If I don't play any matches and we win the Champions League next year, I will be so happy."

Impossible to price this one - on the one hand he is the best in the world and irreplaceable, on the other has is in final year of contract, has had injury problems, and has just turned 30, limiting any resale value for a buying club. I'd not sell him...

Rodri has earned the right to choose. He delivered everything for City. But selling him makes no sense if we can keep him for a year With Rodri city can win league / very well in champ league which creates more income than the fee.

Rodri has won four Premier League titles, the Champions League and two FA Cups since joining City in 2019 and has established himself as being not only integral to the side, but as one of the best midfielders in the world.
Having already lost Bernardo Silva this summer, losing Rodri would be a significant blow and would require one of Mateo Kovacic, Nico Gonzalez or Tijjani Reijnders to step up, with all three featuring in pre-season so far.
Club record signing Elliot Anderson is set to be a starter, so there would be a big hole to fill alongside the England international.
City remain in talks to sign 18-year-old midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, but it would be a big ask for the Moroccan teenager to fill such esteemed boots.

If Rodri really has his heart set on returning to Spain, City should sell him for as much as we can get. Any deal should be a cash only upfront deal, none of the " never never terms" deals that both big Spanish clubs prefer.

The biggest obstacle for Barcelona signing Rodri remains the club's financial situation.
Barcelona cannot complete a deal of this size without first generating income, meaning player sales are expected to be key.
Ferran Torres continues to be linked with a departure after continued interest from PSG, while the club's pursuit of Julian Alvarez also requires careful balancing of the books.
Any move for Rodri is therefore likely to depend on other transfer business being completed first.
Another factor driving Barcelona's interest is the injury to Frenkie de Jong. The Dutch midfielder is facing a spell on the sidelines with a knee problem, leaving the club short of options in defensive midfield.
Barcelona sources denied any desire to sell de Jong.
His absence has only strengthened Barcelona's desire to sign a proven holding midfielder such as Rodri, who they believe can make an immediate impact.
