England pulled off a brilliant chase after being two down in the first over.

Among Full Member nations, there have been 11 instances where a team has lost two wickets in the first over of an innings and still managed to successfully chase the target.

England, Pakistan, and New Zealand are the only sides to have done it twice.

  4. 'Bethell was phenomenal'published at 18:35 BST

England captain Harry Brook: "We knew we could chase that with the wind and the dimensions of the ground. The idea was to get off to a good start in the powerplay, but that didn't quite work with a couple of wickets in the first over

"We were happy after their powerplay and then the way that Beth [Jacob Bethell] played was phenomenal. It was about using the dimensions and the wind as well as we could. That little spell with Sam [Curran] and Will Jacks, going for 10 or so, was vital in the context of the game.

"You have to maximise the powerplay, we have strength and power but innovation as well, we can hit different parts of the ground and we did that well.

"Jacob is awesome, he rallies the troops well, he gives me a massive hand out there, he is so mature and he has a massive career ahead of him."

  5. 'Everyone chipped in'published at 18:29 BST

Player of the match Jacob Bethell: "It worked out well in the end, Harry Brook set the tone, and we flipped it back at them, then Tom Banton played well, everyone kept chipping in.

"You don't go rapid all the time, and one of those big overs does it. A couple of free hits, the bowler is down, then you take them, then Jofra [Archer] comes in and finishes it off!

"One side of the ground might be easy to hit sixes, but you can also hit the gaps, and we were good at that as a group. They are a highly skilled attack, you want to do well against the best team in the world and we did well today."

Now if you're wondering how Vaibhav Sooryavanshi got on with the bat on his debut at 15 years and 99 days earlier...

He made a 10-ball 14, striking two sixes, before being stumped by Jos Buttler off the bowling of Will Jacks.

  7. 'Ravi's got to learn from that'published at 18:26 BST

India skipper Shreyas Iyer: "I think we all know when the game went away from us but I don't want to pinpoint any particular player. The way we cruising until the 16th over, I think we were doing exceptionally well and the momentum shifted towards them.

"After one [no-ball from Ravi Bishnoi] I thought 'okay, he's going to come back strongly after that' but again back-to-back it haunted us a bit. Definitely he's got to learn out of that.

"I thought it was a phenomenal score on that wicket which had variable bounce and offered something to the bowlers. The way Sam Curran bowled by not giving us width was very well planned.

"With the ball, the first 15 overs we were on top of the game and then suddenly...but credit to the way Jacob Bethell played, it was great to watch him."

A comfortable win in the end, a few hiccups on the way but India were short of runs. India's bowling was patchy, and the pressure is on on the world champions and the new captain - winless in four games.

This is adding up the pressure on Shreyas Iyer.
