| Ono Eno writes.... If there is one thing I hate more than going to the dentist, it's cleaning. So imagine my disgust when I switched my TV on recently to find myself watching a programme titled 'How Clean is your House' hosted by Kim Woodburn on Channel 4?
Well, all I can say is, methinks, this time they have taken reality TV a bit too far. What I want to know is:
..it's not entertainment and if we didn't have to do it, then we wouldn't.... personally I think it should stay behind closed doors |
a. who the hell doesn't know how to clean their houses and needs lessons on cleaning; b. get a cleaner for Christ's sake (Hey presto - this is where Kim Woodburn comes in) and; c. having got a cleaner (Kim Woodburn) why do we need the evidence on the toilet brush shoved up our noses that close and personal in our living rooms?...
... the thought that springs to mind is some things in life just being so unnecessary springs to mind.
Put it this way: in dental terms, watching Gals Aloud or the now disbanded vocal harmony group, One True Voice - and even Hearsay do their thang on Pop idols/rivals - was a clean and polish. Sitting through this cleaning programme is more like getting your teeth pulled slowly without anaesthetics. Yikes!
And as for cleaning, it's not entertainment and if we didn't have to do it, then we wouldn't, and personally I think it should stay behind closed doors where it belongs. Oh yeah! Did I mention that this programme pulled in 4.1 million viewers last week thereby attracting a 20% share of TV viewers at 7.30pm?
In my opinion that's a whole lot of people desperate to learn how to clean their homes. |
