  1. 'Very comfortable win' for Fritzpublished at 15:02 BST

    Fritz 6-3 6-4 6-3 Lajovic

    Mark Woodforde
17-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

That was very comfortable for Taylor Fritz, wasn't it?

His game was operational and that all starts with the serve. He hit 14 aces and he managed to build a high win-rate behind his serve. His movement was smooth during the rallies and he was able to find his targets.

    A very comfortable win.

I like the way Townsend is looking to mix things up and is making Swiatek think about where she is putting the serve.

    Mensik 2-2 Samuel*

Great Britain's Toby Samuel has had an exceptional few weeks - qualifying for the French Open to make his first main-draw appearance at a Grand Slam, followed by reaching the semi-finals at Eastbourne.

On his Wimbledon debut, he's facing Czech 15th seed Jakub Mensik, who got to the semi-finals at the French Open a few weeks ago.

It's on serve at 2-2 in the first set.

  4. Swiatek saves break pointpublished at 14:59 BST

    Townsend 1-6 6-2 0-0 Swiatek*

Which Iga Swiatek are we going to see in this third and deciding set?

The Polish third seed is still not at her best as she overhits a volley at the net and the game goes to deuce as she serves a sixth double fault of the match.

A seventh double fault offers Taylor Townsend break point, but a long return sees the game go to deuce again.

  5. Game and third set - Ferypublished at 14:54 BST

    Dzumhur 6-3 2-6 2-6 0-0 Fery*

Arthur Fery trailed Damir Dzumhur by a set and a break on court 16 but he's won 12 of the past 14 games to move within one set of victory.

Will Fery be the second British player to make it through to the second round?

  6. Swiatek 'plays a lot of wonky matches'published at 14:52 BST

    Townsend 1-6 6-2 0-0 Swiatek*

    Anne Keothavong
Former British number one on BBC One

Just when you think Swiatek's settled and got through the early part of a match, nerves do come back for her.

You can see that in a lot of the scorelines if you look back historically, she plays a lot of wonky matches when she goes to three sets.

Game, set and match - Fritzpublished at 14:52 BST

    Fritz 6-3 6-4 6-3 Lajovic

Sixth seed Taylor Fritz has wrapped up a comfortable straight-sets win over Dusan Lajovic to reach round two.

The American broke four times across the three sets and saved the only break point he faced as he won 6-3 6-4 6-3 in under two hours.

  8. 'Townsend is taking charge and throwing Swiatek off'published at 14:51 BST

    Townsend 1-6 6-2 0-0 Swiatek*

    Marion Bartoli
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Iga Swiatek is just falling apart on her service games at the minute. She has double-faulted way too many times and Taylor Townsend is definitely feeling that.

After giving Swiatek way too much rhythm in the first set, Townsend is taking charge and feeding her opponent more slices. It has absolutely been throwing her opponent off.

When looking at the players Townsend has lost to in previous years, it has often been players who are very comfortable playing fast and flat.

Absolutely no doubt that Taylor Townsend raised her game in that second set - she put so much pressure on Iga Swiatek’s serve.

But my word, was that messy from Swiatek. She was trying to hit her way out of trouble and it was just not happening.

No wonder she’s gone straight off court after that set.

  10. Fery on verge of winning third setpublished at 14:50 BST

    *Dzumhur 6-3 2-6 2-5 Fery

After breaking Damir Dzumhur again, Arthur Fery finds himself 15-40 down on his own serve - but it's a gutsy hold from the Briton.

He's one game away from a two sets to one lead.

  11. Game and second set Townsendpublished at 14:49 BST

    Townsend 1-6 6-2 0-0 Swiatek*

Iga Swiatek prods a backhand long down the line to gift two set points for Taylor Townsend.

Taylor Townsend can't make them count as she is forced into two errors by Swiatek.

The American is not deterred as she brings up a third set point with a volley at the net, before sealing it with an ace.

It's game on on Centre Court and the crowd are loving every minute of it.

    *Townsend 1-6 5-2 Swiatek

Iga Swiatek, serving to stay in the second set, comes through to hold.

Some fancy stats on the TV coverage show Swiatek's forehand quality, which is judged on speed, spin, depth and width, has dropped significantly in this second set.

    Michelsen 6-3 6-4 2-6 0-0 Fearnley*

One-third of the mountain climbed, as Jacob Fearnley wins the third set to reduce his deficit to two sets to one against American Alex Michelsen.

Head to the BBC iPlayer to watch play on all courts at SW19. There are currently four male British players in action; Fearnley, Arthur Fery, Billy Harris and Toby Samuel.

    Townsend 1-6 5-1 Swiatek*

Iga Swiatek has the answer when Taylor Townsend comes into the net with a backhand winner across court.

We saw that a lot in the first set but Townsend has been much better at picking her spots to advance in the second set.

With the American at the net once more, Swiatek can't find a way past this time and she is now one game away from levelling this match.

  17. Fery broken back in third setpublished at 14:37 BST

    *Dzumhur 6-3 2-6 2-3 Fery

Former British number one John Lloyd, commentating on Arthur Fery at Queen's a couple of weeks ago, predicted a bright future for him.

"I see no reason why he can't be top 50," he said. "He's quick, nasty to play against, he moves well, isn't afraid to change it up with the slice and he likes the big stage."

Fery beat 20th seed Alexei Popyrin in the first round at Wimbledon last year before losing in round two.

His run of nine straight games against Damir Dzumhur has come to an end - and worse news, he's been broken so he's back on serve in set three.

  18. Swiatek holdspublished at 14:35 BST

    *Townsend 1-6 4-1 Swiatek

There's a glimpse of the Iga Swiatek that has won six Grand Slam titles as a perfectly placed forehand leaves Taylor Townsend no chance.

Townsend responds with a glorious forehand winner across court, but Swiatek fights back to hold and get on the board in this second set.

Word of a British resurgence is beginning to spread as more and more people begin to flock to courts 15 and 16.

Jacob Fearnley has control of his must-win third set, while Arthur Fery is a break up in the third after levelling his match against Damir Dzumhur.

Fery has just had a medical timeout but has served his way to a 3-0 lead.

The home players are fighting back.

    Townsend 1-6 4-0 Swiatek*

The inconsistencies which have sneaked into Iga Swiatek's game over the past 18 months are on full display in this second set as she struggles to find her rhythm.

Taylor Townsend gets to 40-0 before holding to love as Swiatek goes wide for her 10th unforced error inside four games.
