    FT: Zebre 21-40 Ulster

So Ulster return to Challenge Cup action and get their first win of the season in all competitions.

It's been an uneven start to the league campaign but they were well on top out against Zebre with Juarno Augustus really leading the charge.

If nothing else, a ringing endorsement of the new bonus-point laws that meant the visitors couldn't be sure of taking maximum points until the very end.

You'll be able to read today's match report and reaction on the BBC Sport NI website but that's all from Parma here.

    Giovanni Montemauri (con Giovanni Montemauri)

    Well, that didn't last long.

Ulster were again on course for the bonus point but Zebre kick ahead and full-back Giovanni Montemauri wins the chase to score his side's third of the afternoon.

He converts it himself for good measure.

Converted try - Zebre 14-33 Ulsterpublished at 71 mins

    Mike Lowry (con Jamie Benson)

Ulster think they should have a penalty try for a deliberate knock-on but the officiating team disagree.

From the scrum, though, the 14 men work their way over with two sharp skip passes putting Mike Lowry over in the corner.

Jamie Benson shows his kicking ability with the conversion from the sideline.

Ulster in possession and importantly bleeding a bit of the clock through this sin bin.

Alessandro Ortombina (con Giacomo da Re)

Zebre make the extra man count quickly as replacement scrum-half Patricio Baronio puts lock Alessandro Ortombina over for the host's second.

Just another reminder...that knocks Ulster out of the bonus-point zone.

  14. Sin-bin - Jack Murphypublished at 62 mins

    Zebre 7-26 Ulster

Jack Murphy is on and off again as the replacement picks up a yellow card for a dangerous tackle almost immediately.

The Grandpa Simpson meme comes to mind.

    Zebre 7-26 Ulster

Martin Moloney is on for David McCann, while Tom Stewart replaces Henry Walker.

Both departing players had strong outings for Ulster there.

    Zebre 7-26 Ulster

Replacements coming thick and fast now as the game has lost a bit of rhythm.

Ulster looking to exert similar control to that they showed in the first half and are driving for the line.

Oh, they're pinged for holding on essentially on the Zebre line.

    Zebre 7-26 Ulster

Zebre look for an immediate response themselves but the pass to Bautista Stavile Bravin doesn't stick.

The flanker had plenty of green space ahead of him if he had been able to gather that.

  18. converted try

Converted try - Zebre 7-26 Ulsterpublished at 48 mins

    David McCann (con Nathan Doak)

Ulster do well to keep it alive and David McCann stretches forward for a try his performance deserves.

There's a TMO review to make sure he's grounded it legally but there's nothing wrong with that.

Richie Murphy's men back in bonus-point territory.

    Zebre 7-19 Ulster

Harry Sheridan takes the line-out throw but the maul veers desperately close to touch.

Mike Lowry, just on as a replacement, takes the ball on when it's worked back inside.

    Zebre 7-19 Ulster

Good chance for Ulster to respond quickly as they get the breakdown penalty 10 metres into the Zebre half.

Jamie Benson quickly knocks it into the corner.
