The players and officials are sufficiently hydrated so away we go again.

  2. 'Mitchell has made mistakes'published at 15:27 BST

Alex Mitchell has made more mistakes in the few minutes that he's been out than probably the rest of the season.

  3. Hydration breakpublished at 22 mins

    Northampton 7-5 Exeter

Two minutes later than scheduled we have the first water break of the match.

Plenty of water break chat at the football World Cup at the moment and it is greeted with a similar negative reaction here!

Let's not open that can of worms right now.

    Northampton 7-5 Exeter

Exeter have a good attacking platform now.

Joseph Dweba can't find his jumper cleanly from the five-metre line-out though and Saints can clear.

It's pretty chaotic, all-action stuff out there.

    Just what we want really!

    Matt Dawson
Prem title winner on Radio 5 Live

I'm trying to work out why Exeter are getting so much change out of Northampton.

Those passes they usually play so fast are not quite coming off, they're not as connected.

Exeter have been doing their homework.

That looked for all the world like being Saints' second try!

Fin Smith's probing kicks are causing problems and this one is collected by George Hendy on the wing - he sends it inside to the unmarked George Furbank who spills it with the line at his mercy!

It wasn't a perfect pass but it's one you expect Furbank to take and the sort of try that Saints have been scoring all season.

A let off for Exeter for sure.

  7. Replacementpublished at 15:19 BST

    Northampton 7-5 Exeter

One enforced early sub apiece now as Saints scrum-half Archie McParland picks up an injury and that means Alex Mitchell joins the action.

A sub of the highest quality there joining the action a lot earlier than expected.

  8. 'Both sides throwing everything at this'published at 15:18 BST

    Northampton 7-5 Exeter

    Lennie Newman
Former Saints player and manager on BBC Radio Northampton

Both sides making errors but sides are really throwing everything they've got at this.

Saints have got to soak this pressure up. It's enormously fatiguing down there.

I don't feel any panic from either side. We've kind of given Exeter that little bit of confidence back, but it's actually been two scores and two mistakes from either side and I think that is pretty much down to the pressure that's on down there.

    Northampton 7-5 Exeter

Saints are being forced to scramble in defence to keep Exeter out.

Henry Slade is close to going over and then Campbell Ridl is stopped about five metres out shortly afterwards.

It was a great start by Saints but Exeter have come roaring back into it - as they did against Bath last week.

  11. 'Wonderful bit of opportunism'published at 15:15 BST

    Northampton 7-5 Exeter

    John Lockyer
Former Exeter Chiefs captain on BBC Radio Devon

Amazingly the first two tries in this game have both come from mistakes.

That was a wonderful bit of opportunism by Len Ikitau and Campbell Ridl and he had the pace to actually get over that try line and score.

  12. 'Exeter do not need second chances'published at 15:14 BST

    Northampton 7-5 Exeter

    Chris Ashton
Prem title winner on Radio 5 Live

We know this Exeter team do not need second chances.

Similar to the opportunity the Saints had, it was never on, but it won't bother them.

They had the chance to make it 10-0 though, now it's 7-5.

    Out of nothing!

    Exeter are back in it

It's an error but one that comes from Saints playing in the attacking style that has brought them so much success.

Tommy Freeman fields the kick wide but blindly offloads it back infield only to find Chiefs' Len Ikitau who passes to winger Campbell Ridl and he races away over the line!

Henry Slade can't add the extras so Saints keep their noses in front.

  14. Replacementpublished at 9 mins

    Northampton 7-0 Exeter

An early change for Exeter as hooker Max Norey is injured and can't continue.

Joseph Dweba is on in his place.

  15. 'A real kick in the teeth for the Chiefs'published at 15:10 BST

    Northampton 7-0 Exeter

    John Lockyer
Former Exeter Chiefs captain on BBC Radio Devon

What Feyi-Waboso and Woodburn have got to do now is forget about that.

That was a real kick in the teeth for the Chiefs but they've got to fight their way back into this game.

That try is the second-fastest in Prem final history.

Exeter were also involved in the fastest when Nic White went over for the Chiefs after just 25 seconds in the 2019 final.

Exeter went on to lose to Saracens that day.

Henry Pollock on the charge for the line!

England team-mate Immanuel Feyi-Waboso wraps him up well though and with the help of his Chiefs team-mates they hold Pollock up over the line and escape conceding a second try early on here.

    All Saints so far.

Another loud whistle from Matt Carley and Tom Pearson has won Saints a penalty deep in Chiefs territory.

Saints once again kick to the corner and come again...

  19. 'Absolute catastrophe for the Chiefs'published at 15:07 BST

An absolute catastrophe for the Exeter Chiefs. A complete mix up between Woodman and Feyi-Waboso and Tommy Freeman says thank you very much.

    Disaster for Chiefs there.

You can't give Northampton gifts like that in a final.

That try was one of those moments where you can kind of see it coming before it happens and it duly does.

Neither Olly Woodburn or Immanuel Feyi-Waboso made it theirs and it popped up perfectly for Tommy Freeman - who doesn't need help to score tries.
