Interim head coach Anna Stembridge stood up and cheered as the record-breaking 90th goal went in for England.

This will give them a whole lot of confidence heading into a defining match against South Africa tomorrow.

A record-breaking victory for England!

They dominated from the off and get the big win they were after. Tonga battled but just did not have the quality to match the Roses.

Eleanor Cardwell leads the way with a massive 54 goals.

Time for a break for Anna Stembridge's side before a massive game against South Africa tomorrow that will determine whether or not they reach the semi-finals.

Eleanor Cardwell plays with such flare and creativity around the shooting circle.

Not only does she hold off her defenders, she's able to use the feeders around the circle with a diverse range of passes. A joy to watch and you get the impression the team feed off her energy.

That record goal count is getting ever closer for England...

Lovely play from England, stealing the ball back and then working it smartly through the thirds to score another.

And now Eleanor Cardwell has got an intercept. The goal-shooter will enjoy that!

The Roses are turning on the flair now.

Just the 38 goals for Eleanor Cardwell so far and England are within 16 of matching their record Commonwealth Games score.

Uneeq Palavi, also known as 'Pav' to fans, stole the headlines and hearts whilst playing her first full-time contract at Melbourne Mavericks.

At the end of the season the club announced she was leaving.

The Tongan goal-shooter has not yet officially announced her next club but there are rumours she could be on the way to the Netball Super League to secure more court time.

Another strong 15 minutes from England, 15 more to go.

It finishes 24-11 for the quarter, Tonga's best of the game so far.

The Roses need another 22 goals for their highest total at the Commonwealth Games.

Close call for a courtside photographer as a Tonga player chases a loose ball as it bounces off court and clatters into one of the hoardings.

It tips but just about rights itself rather than falling on the photographer behind.

Tonga have already beaten their goals tally from the second quarter but England aren't slowing down either.

Scotland win their first medal of the day, edging out New Zealand 18-16 in an angst-ridden bronze-medal match at the SEC. Safe to say the crowd in here enjoyed that one…

And it will be followed by - at worst - silver in the women’s wheelchair event later on Wednesday. Praise be.

A reminder that an England win today - as looks highly likely at this stage - would put them level on points with South Africa and Australia at the top of Pool A.

It will be between those three for the semi-finals spots and the Roses could do with Australia beating South Africa tonight.

That would make it a straight shootout tomorrow evening, whereas a South Africa win would bring points average into play.

Third quarter under way and England start the second half very quickly.

Three goals in the first 45 seconds.

No doubt that was an impressive half from England... but if we're being nit-picky, which you need to be to win gold medals, they'll definitely be looking to increase their goal percentage of 85% in the second half.

For reference, Australia achieved 95% when they played Tonga in their opening match.
