Linn Grant confidently rolls in a par putt on the third green to put some pressure on Angel Yin.

The American has to drain her par attempt from 10 feet to keep her nose in front. Pushed right. Back level.

Again it's around the six foot range for Charley Hull but this time it's to halve the hole with Megan Khang after an errant tee shot on the short par three.

And in she goes! Hull's putting is looking pretty good early on. Good signs.

Mimi Rhodes is actually a lot further than 30 feet from the hole, it's probably closer to 50 feet. Her lag putt is down to around six feet but that opens the door for Nelly Korda to get some red on the board.

And the American gives a little fist pump as her ball disappears.

Nastasia Nadaud has had a fine Solheim Cup debut, forming a winning partnership with fellow rookie Mimi Rhodes to win both of their matches they played together.

One of those was against Andrea Lee, who is playing in her third Solheim Cup and has halved her previous two singles outings.

Lee has won one of her three matches so far this week and will be keen to get one in the singles win column.

Both players find similar spots down the left with their tee shots - with Nadaud, the youngest player on either side, all smiles as she strides off.

That's a lovelt settler for Nanna Koerstz Madsen as she fires in a nice iron shot to the first, as Allisen Corpuz, who was in trouble off the tee, is the latest American to miss this first green and that ends up costing her the opening hole.

Mimi Rhodes has laid up with her second shot into the par-five second. But she's left herself in a scruffy lie and fires a wedge a good 30 feet too long.

Nelly Korda is coming off the fairway grass from about 40 yards. You'd expect this to be in tight. That's a 6/10 chip from the world number one. The ball skids a good dozen feet past the hole.

Linn Grant is standing over a 15-footer to escape with a half on the long second but her putter is not yet warmed up, so there's a first bit of red on the board.

It's been rare for Americans to take a lead in the opening three or four holes this week so Angel Yin's early win here will be a big boost for her team-mates.

Team USA captain Angela Stanford speaking about the celebrations after yesterday's performance: "We kind of came out a little flat yesterday, we needed a jolt like that. They needed to enjoy it and they're all fired up again this morning.

"I'm pretty confident in the end of our line-up, and all the way, but the end is going to be tough."

Nanna Koerstz Madsen struggled on day one, losing both matches as she really struggled with her swing. In fact she's thought to have spoken to her swing coach for help in between morning and afternoon sessions on Friday.

So it was a little surprising Anna Nordqvist sent her back out in the afternoon, but no surprise that the Dane sat out Saturday totally.

She'll need to find something to deal with the solid Allisen Corpuz, Nelly Korda's BFF who had been unbeaten alongside the world number one until legend killers Maja Stark and Linn Grant took them down.

Corpuz also lost to Mimi Rhodes and Nastasia Nadaud and in singles she's 1-1-0 so she's not as much of a force without Korda. But she's steady, solid, doesn't make too many mistakes and by the way is a US Women's Open champion. She'll be tough to beat today.

Another birdie putt pulls up short of the hole on the first. Nelly Korda is not the most aggressive putter and her effort runs out of steam six inches short.

Mimi Rhodes has ditched the outer layer of waterproofing on her top. Will she give this enough up the hill? It's right on line and rolling out beautifully. But again the ball refuses to reach the hole.

Nelly Korda is first to attack the pin on the opening hole but that's a bang average shot. The ball is in the heart of the green but it's getting on for 30 feet from the pin.

Can Mimi Rhodes take advantage? Not really. She's about the same distance away after her effort catches the left edge of the green.

Esther Henseleit has given herself two birdie looks in two holes, and after missing on the first she makes no mistake on the second to edge ahead.

Mimi Rhodes is taking all this in her stride. She's decked out in full European blue waterproofs as she smiles and waves to the packed stands around the first green.

She follows Nelly Korda with a fairway finder off the tee. Nerveless.

A lot of eyes will be focused on this match as European rookie Mimi Rhodes gets to take on world number one Nelly Korda.

Rhodes has excelled this week, winning both her matches alongside fellow debutant Nastasia Nadaud.

And to some extent it's a free hit for the 24-year-old Englishwoman with Korda clearly the standout player in the American team and world golf.

But Korda has had a mixed bag this week, finally losing her 100% record in the foursomes with Allisen Corpuz before being pegged back by Carlota Ciganda's last-hole heroics late on Friday.
