Another day of excellent conditions and tremendous scoring in East Lothian.

The top of the leaderboard is nicely poised for moving day tomorrow.

Rory McIlroy followed up his strong start yesterday to keep his share of the lead, while home favourite Bob MacIntyre remains in contention, just two off the top at seven under.

There were also several big names who missed the cut, including world number one Scottie Scheffler.

A tidy up-and-down from Bob MacIntyre completes a good day's work for the Scotsman.

Rory McIlroy's birdie putt stays left, but he tidies up for his par and is once again among the clubhouse leaders.

A disappointing finish for Chris Gotterup, who takes three shots from the side of the green. Despite that bogey, a 65 is not to be sniffed at.

Bob MacIntyre's approach from the rough at 18 finds the green... but rolls off into a gathering area.

Chris Gotterup is also off the putting surface and debating with officials about a free drop, but Rory McIlroy has about 30ft for a closing birdie.

Francesco Molinari is level-par today, heading to the par-three ninth - his 18th.

He's right on the cut line and knows one slip-up could see him miss the weekend.

Pressure's for tyres though - the Italian's tee shot flirts with the hole and leaves a tap-in birdie.

He's been excellent on the back nine today.

Rory McIlroy's putt drifts just wide of the hole, but he and Chris Gotterup won't complain about pars as they head to 18.

Two holes to go for the marquee group.

The pin at the par-three 17th is just over a hump and not the easiest to access.

Chris Gotterup's tee shot shoots left of a slope and nestles down off the green, Rory McIlroy is pin-high right, while Bob MacIntyre judges his effort best and has about 15-20ft for birdie.

With a par on the final hole, Ewen Ferguson has missed the cut.

Needing a birdie coming down 18, he knocks his attempt to just four feet away, but has to settle for a four and with it, an early exit from the tournament.

Bob MacIntyre shovels his second shot back into the fairway, while his playing partners both find the green.

It looks like being an excellent up-and-down from the Scot to save his par, but he misses the short par putt.

Chris Gotterup's birdie putt doesn't have enough beans and Rory McIlroy's has a look before staying up.

Two pars and a bogey.

Rory McIlroy and Chris Gotterup find the fairway on 16, but Bob MacIntyre is left and in some nasty thick rough.

Brooks Koepka is another big name to miss the cut.

A terrific 66 yesterday was followed by a dismal 74 today, undoing all of his good work and leaving him on level par for his effort this week.

Bogeys on the third, seventh, 10th, and 16th and a double on the 14th tell the story.

Out of 156 players in the field, he's ranked 135th for driving accuracy off the tee.

Sloppy play like that won't go unpunished here.

A stat flashes up on the TV coverage that Bob MacIntyre hasn't holed a putt longer than eight feet in the tournament so far.

He duly rolls in a monster for his third birdie in a row - the 2024 champion moves to seven under.

Rory McIlroy two-putts for par, as does Chris Gotterup.

After a great birdie on the 16th, Ewen Ferguson gives the shot straight back on the penultimate hole.

He overshoots the green with his tee shot into the par three, but gets relief from the grandstand.

It was always going to be a struggle to get up and down from there, and he's one shot outside the cut line again.

A great look at birdie on the last for Min Woo Lee, this would give him a share of the lead, for now.

The ball is tracking well but doesn't drop at the last second. A touch more momentum and he would have been in a share of the lead.

A routine tap-in for a walk-off par, and the Australian remains joint fourth.

To the stadium hole - the 15th - which is framed beautifully by the early evening sun.

Bob MacIntyre's and Rory McIlroy's tee shots are both safely aboard the dancefloor, but a fair way away from the hole.

Chris Gotterup is a wee bit closer as this group chase closing birdies.

Argh, a bit too much pace on Rory McIlroy's eagle putt means it doesn't take the break and stays up.

Still, three birdies for this group - McIlroy is back level with the clubhouse leaders, with defending champion Chris Gotterup just one back.

Another birdie for Min Woo Lee, putting him within a shot of the lead.

In his last six holes, the Australian has carded: eagle, par, birdie, birdie, par, birdie.

Decent going, that.

A potentially crucial birdie for Ewen Ferguson on the 16th, moving him inside the cut line on two under.

Just a couple of pars now, and he should be sticking around for the weekend's action.
