  1. Lights outpublished at 01:44 BST

So, that's a wrap from us. We'll be back from around 12:00 BST on Friday to take you through the end of round one and the start of round two. Here's hoping there's no fog to delay proceedings again.

Thanks for reading. Let's go again tomorrow.

  2. Postpublished at 01:42 BST

    DeChambeau -1, Hovland +6, Fitzpatrick -2 (16*)

It looks like Matt Fitzpatrick and Bryson DeChambeau have picked up their balls and are waiting for the morning to tackle their birdie putts.

Probably makes sense given green reading in the gloaming is not the easiest and the putting surface will be freshly cut.

And it sounds like the tee-times for round two will only be delayed by 15 minutes on Friday, once those unable to finish this evening wrap up their rounds in the morning.

  3. Postpublished at 01:35 BST

    DeChambeau -1, Hovland +6, Fitzpatrick -2 (16*)

This is a bit like playing with my dad back at Silsden golf club when I was a teenager. Late on a Sunday afternoon, trying to beat the dark.

Bryson DeChambeau is firing his second into the eighth hole from 120 yards or so and he's marching up to the green. Will he just mark his ball? He's got a 20-footer for birdie.

Matt Fitzpatrick is in tighter. He's looking at an 11-footer...

  4. Rahm calls it a nightpublished at 01:33 BST

    Spieth +3, Rahm -2, Rose +3 (13*)

Jon Rahm follows his caddie's advice and marks his ball, opting to return tomorrow to complete the hole.

He plunges four tees into the rough, presumably surrounding his ball before picking it up.

  5. Postpublished at 01:32 BST

    Johnson -2 (15*) Clark -6 (16*)

Wyndham Clark gets up and down for a par on the seventh. He will be absolutely delighted with that.

Dustin Johnson is on the dance floor in one and has a birdie putt from inside four feet.

  6. Hooter signals end of playpublished at 01:28 BST

    DeChambeau -1, Hovland +6, Fitzpatrick -2 (16*)

Bryson DeChambeau belts his drive down the eighth, his 17th hole. Matt Fitzpatrick has already played.

But then the hooter sounds to signal the end of play.

Because it's not a dangerous weather situation the players have the option to mark their ball and come back tomorrow, or finish the hole they are on.

  7. Postpublished at 01:26 BST

    MacIntyre +1 (15)

Bob MacIntyre bounces back from a bogey with a birdie, draining a sensational 23-footer.

  8. Bogeys for Fitz and Brysonpublished at 01:24 BST

    DeChambeau -1, Fitzpatrick -2 (16*)

Over on the seventh Bryson DeChambeau, like so many before him, finds the sand on the par-three seventh hole. The hole is tucked over on that side but there are bunkers to the right too.

Matt Fitzpatrick probably wishes he was in the sand too. His feet are, but his ball is in the rough. And he doesn't really hit that. He's left himself a 25-footer for par.

He gives it a good roll but the ball sidles off left at the death. Bogey. And that also means Clark leads by four.

DeChambeau is facing a nine-footer for a three. Nope. Bogey.

  9. Double bogey for DJpublished at 01:21 BST

    Johnson -2 Clark -6 (15*)

Oh DJ. What have you done there? The American is putting for par from six feet but tentatively brushes it past the hole and then fails to drop in the return from three feet, which pirouettes around the cup before staying up.

That's two strokes gone in the blink of an eye.

  10. Postpublished at 01:19 BST

    Rai +4 (16*)

The US PGA champion Aaron Rai is having a back nine to forget. The Englishman records his fifth bogey in seven holes and third on the spin, as he goes into reverse, back at four over.

  11. Postpublished at 01:15 BST

    Johnson -4, Clark -6 (14*)

Wyndham Clark is on a roll. Even when his ball tumbles off the sixth green, he delivers a deft chip to around 12 inches to ensure a par is very much on the menu.

DJ is in way more trouble after launching a shot from the rough into the left bunker. It sounds like he's caught that a little thick but his ball rolls about five feet past.

  12. Rahm does it againpublished at 01:14 BST

    Spieth +3, Rahm -2, Rose +3 (13*)

    He does it again!

Jon Rahm remains the only player from round one without a bogey.

    A five-footer sunk.

  13. Birdie chances spurnedpublished at 01:07 BST

    DeChambeau -2, Hovland +6, Fitzpatrick -3 (15*)

Bryson DeChambeau is up first with an 18-footer for birdie. It's downhill and he barely breathes on the back of the ball. It trundles down the slope but is always missing on the low side.

Here's Matt Fitzpatrick from across the green. He's not hit that on the right line, and it too wanders off on the low side.

And Viktor Hovland makes it a hat-trick of missed birdies. It's been a poor day for the Norwegian.

  14. Postpublished at 01:03 BST

    Fitzpatrick -3 (14*)

The shadows are lengthening and it feels like we're reaching the end of the day. Still time for Matt Fitzpatrick to arrow another shot into the heart of a green.

The 2022 US Open champ will have a 12-footer on the sixth to get to four under.

  15. Clark moves two clear with eaglepublished at 01:01 BST

    Johnson -4, Clark -6 (14*)

That's a classy chip from Dustin Johnson but he lets himself down with a timid birdie putt from five or six feet that has no legs.

Wyndham Clark rolls in from three feet for eagle to reach SIX UNDER. Who expected that score earlier today?

  16. Postpublished at 00:55 BST 19 June

    Johnson -4, Clark -4 (13*)

Who said the weather was going to cause chaos for the later starters?

Wyndham Clark plays arguably the shot of the day as he launches an iron into three feet from almost 200 yards on the par-five fifth. He'll have a very makeable eagle putt incoming.

And with Dustin Johnson straying right with his second, he could well be heading into the outright lead.

  17. MacIntyre pulls another one backpublished at 00:50 BST 19 June

    MacIntyre +1 (13)

Bob MacIntyre drains a 15-foot birdie putt. Fair play to him - he hasn't stopped fighting.

    Two birdies in three holes.

  18. Fitz flyingpublished at 00:50 BST 19 June

    DeChambeau -2, Fitzpatrick -3 (14*)

Matt Fitzpatrick, on the other hand, continues on his birdie roll - another 20 footer drops on the fifth and that's a fifth in eight holes as he sidles into third on his own, one off the lead.

Bryson DeChambeau, from six feet, is also in for a four and moving along nicely.

  19. Schauffele slidingpublished at 00:46 BST 19 June

    Schauffele +2 (13)

Xander Schauffele's round continues to unravel. He's wayward with his second to the par-four 13th. So wayward, he's obscured by a grandstand and gets a free drop.

But he can't get up down from 40 yards. Another shot gone. Four bogeys in seven holes.

  20. Rahm still bogeylesspublished at 00:34 BST 19 June

    Spieth +2, Rahm -2, Rose +3 (11*)

Still no bogeys for Jon Rahm - the only player in round one. A wonderful bunker shot leaves him a four-foot putt, and he does the rest.
