Former England winger Kieron Dyer's managerial career began with a come-from-behind win for Southend against Altrincham in the National League.
Alty took the lead in the eighth minute when Tom Crawford tucked home a rebound after Aidan Barlow was denied by visiting goalkeeper Joe Duncan.
But Dyer's side turned the game around with two goals either side of half-time as the 47-year-old made an encouraging start to his time in the dugout.
First, Leon Chambers-Parillon levelled in the 37th minute as he beat his marker and found the bottom corner from 20 yards before Oli Coker struck seven minutes after the interval, slotting home after Harry Cardwell had dispossessed Altrincham goalkeeper Owen Evans.
Altrincham had Matty Kosylo sent off for a second yellow card with 20 minutes left and Southend took advantage as Cardwell added a third in the 85th minute.
