Do United need another left back with how well Amass has played in preseason? Scott, Huddersfield

I just get the impression United do not think Amass is the right man to challenge Luke Shaw for his place and potentially replace him.

I guess ultimately, it is not about standing in for Shaw occasionally, which I think Amass could do, or come on as a substitute, it is if Shaw was injured for a length of time, would Michael Carrick be happy with Amass, at 19, being the first choice left-back and, potentially playing against Manchester City or Real Madrid? I think it would be a stretch and unfair on Amass.

At the end of the 24/25 season, club officials told the Bruno Fernandes they would not stand in his way if he wanted to accept a huge offer from Saudi Pro-League club Al Hilal.

Fernandes has spoken previously about the "hurt" he felt.

After speaking to his family, he opted to stay, just as Wayne Rooney did after saying he wanted to leave in 2010, when all of Europe's leading clubs coveted him.

"I stayed because I thought I still had something that I can give back to the club," said Fernandes.

"Obviously the Saudi situation, with the money... there was a lot. The good thing I have in my family is that my wife is pretty down to earth like me.

"We're very aware that we don't want to be the richest person in the world. We just want to be the ones that have achieved the dreams they had and live a good life with their kids and trying to be as successful as possible.

"The words of my wife were like, 'have you achieved your dreams? Have you achieved everything you wanted?'.

"And that small thing she said made me understand that she's on the same page as me. Let's keep trying and see where this takes me."

Of all United's squad, Fernandes is the one worshipped by fans.

But after the 'will-he, won't-he' debate around the 31-year-old's future last summer when the massive offer from Saudi Pro-League side Al-Hilal emerged, United's resolve could be about to be tested again.

Italian heavyweights Juventus and AC Milan, plus Galatasaray, are all understood to be keen on the Portugal playmaker, who has a £57m release clause available to overseas clubs.

It remains to be seen how United react if a bid is received. Last December, Fernandes admitted to being "hurt" at being told by United officials it was up to him whether he wanted to accept the Al-Hilal offer.

Now, his contract has entered its final year - there is an option to extend by a further season - and, as yet, there is no agreement over a new one.

It is thought Fernandes' preference is to stay at United, potentially for the remainder of his career. On the club's previous visit to the Republic of Ireland in April, he said he wants to compete for trophies. That situation is understood still to be the case.

But at a time when United are attempting to keep a lid on their wage bill, Fernandes could justifiably point to his contribution as being worthy of a significant salary, as Marcus Rashford returns to the club and is currently the highest earner.

United's hierarchy may find themselves with a problem that won't easily be resolved.

Certainly, Carrick won't want to lose the former Sporting man.

9% of the votes go to between £100-£109m, while 4% think he is worth £110m-£119m.

4% think he is worth between £120-£130m.

The final 2% of votes go to more than £130m.

Chelsea have made it clear that if Enzo Fernandez does not leave in the summer, the club are willing to fully reintegrate Fernandez into the squad and allow him to continue as a key player.

Enzo Fernandez returned to Chelsea training on Tuesday after flying in from his holiday in Ibiza.

There are again rumours that Manchester City could make a move for him.

Chelsea's stance has remained consistent. Their asking price remains £120m should any club want to sign him, acknowledging that the Argentina international is open to a move.

However, Chelsea will not budge on that valuation and both Xabi Alonso and the club as a whole would be happy to reintegrate him into the squad this season.
