    Guy Mowbray
    Commentator on BBC One

It is one of the greatest results in England's World Cup history. Mexico do not lose here. Not on their patch. Not in their temple. They DO tonight. A first ever win against a host nation. A first ever win in this arena. 40 years on from the 'Hand of God', the hands of fate have smiled this time. Three Lions, 26 heroes. Nobody should ever have that much drama at four in the morning.

Those players have represented their country in magnificent form tonight. Every single player had the right attitude. Everything that could have gone against them, everything that was thrown at them, the energy, the altitude, they have got past all of that and they deserved it. That is an incredible performance from start to finish.

When they were under the cosh the manager made the right substitutions. The subs came on and they did their job. What an incredible night.

"It's coming home" rings around the Azteca.

A stadium that has only twice seen a team other than Mexico win this century. Incredible scenes.

The Mexican players are absolutely gutted. But this is England's moment.

What a colossus performance that was from an England side.

They changed formation, and they dug in. There are a lot of heroes out on that pitch tonight.

They dug in and somehow they have held on.

The subs have worked well up to now. Burn has done his job, Stones has, Spence has. Desperate at times but you've got to do it and they are doing it well.

There are two ambulances behind Jordan Pickford's goal. If England gets through this, I might go down and get in one of them.
