Once again Jay Dasilva does some great work defensively just before half-time.

He saw the danger and chose his spot in the penalty area.

Not a moment of added time in the first half and Wales head for the dressing room at 1-0 down.

Wales have offered very little going forward, with Portugal managing 13 shots to their opponents' one.

Having said that, the hosts have not created a raft of clear-cut chances.

All things considered, Craig Bellamy has to be reasonably happy, doesn't he?

Wales work hard defensively once more but then give the ball away too easily.

The big centre-back tries a shot from distance which sails into the crowd.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not look especially impressed with that.

Pedro Neto finds a bit of space and tries a stepover as he drives into the box, but Jay Dasilva makes a good tackle.

The pitch is not the best.

Ronaldo had to really concentrate there instead of putting his foot through it because he's not sure where it's going to bobble to.

By the way, Gareth Bale is four years younger than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The moment that free-kick was awarded, the majority of the home fans got their phones out ready to record the Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick.

Around 25 yards out, almost facing the centre of the goal, the 41-year-old fires is straight at the wall.

The phones duly go back into the pockets of the supporters, who will presumably delete that video pretty soon.

Wales fans respond with chants of 'you're just a poor Gareth Bale'.*

*A stronger word was definitely used in this chant.

'You're just an inferior Gareth Bale', or words to that effect, sing Wales' fans.

Cristiano Ronaldo strides forward... and drills the free-kick into the Welsh wall.
