Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's a bad night and a bad game. I'm not really worried about the table, more how to correct the mistakes.
"Credit to Brentford but the situations we should solve normally with better defending. We are disappointed but it's about reacting and going for the next one.
"I don't say it was because of the semi-final. It was high demanding on a fitness aspect but we should have defended better.
"We didn't create too much, Brentford defended well. We have to compete much better to achieve what we want. The way we did it in this game is not normal for where we are.
"There are still four games to go, a lot of football to be played. We have to focus on ourselves and play better football.
"He [Callum Hudson-Odoi] was not able to continue. He felt something in the first half."

"Last 12 games we have been extremely consistent and well performing. There's another big game on Sunday which we will do our best to win."
On whether Brentford are ready for Europe: "Ask me in three games time - then I'll answer the question.
"We're growing as a club and the team is growing. We would be more competitive if we didn't have as many injuries last year.
"We consistently perform at a good level [this season]. This season we had one bad game whereas the other season we have had three or four."

"Throughout he midfield and forwards, we could have created chances to score but we didn't. We defend and attack as a team. We have to move on to Palace.
On FA Cup semi-final hangover: "I was suspended for that and I didn't feel like it for one bit.
"You've got to look at each game and put all your focus into it. We're isolating each game as it comes and try to get fired up and put this behind us.
"We're just thinking about Palace. We haven't got long and that's all we're focused on. We've reacted well to set backs this season. That will show the character of the group."

"We lacked a bit of coolness in spells, but we have to come here and got a well deserved win and gave very little away - that's very good.
"I have been speaking to Nathan [Collins] about how centre-backs who can play a long pass in-behind is such a bigger threat than shorter passes."
On Kevin Schade: "He's done very well. We all need to understand with all players, but especially younger players there very few get in and perform.
"He was more consistent last year, probably the team and everything around him didn't have as good a season.
"He's added to his level and now he's playing at a consistent level."

"We had more possession and we went 1-0 up, then 2-0. Naturally they pressed us more. We knew the counters against, we had to be very good and close down those situations. We needed to be good enough to play behind them.

Kevin Schade has scored eight goals in the Premier League this season
Brentford dealt a blow to Nottingham Forest's hopes of securing Champions League football with an impressive win at the City Ground.
Just four days on from losing against Manchester City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, Forest lacked the creativity required to break down a well-disciplined Brentford.
Forward Kevin Schade set the visitors on their way just before half-time with a prodded shot from close range.
Forest put a lacklustre opening 45 minutes behind them when returning in torrential rain after the break, stepping up the pace of their play and asking questions of their opponents.
Winger Anthony Elanga went closest to finding an equaliser when chopping into the box and forcing a fine save from Mark Flekken.
Chris Wood headed comfortably wide from six yards with his only real opportunity of note.
But as Forest grew in confidence, Brentford struck on the counter and Yoane Wissa delivered the decisive blow with a deft chip.
Defeat keeps Forest sixth but just two points shy of third-placed Newcastle with four games to play, while Brentford remain 11th and still firmly in the race for a European berth.
Forest need 'better solutions' after 'disappointing night' - Nuno
Nuno Espirito Santo spoke about Forest's final five games of the season being the "biggest of our careers" in the build-up to this encounter, but that wasn't enough to draw a reaction from his troops.
Following a disappointing showing on the big stage at Wembley against Manchester City, it was imperative that Forest quickly got back on the horse in the league with the Champions League in their sights.
However, much like the FA Cup semi-final, Forest lacked in all areas as Brentford found life far too easy at a ground that has been a fortress for most of 2024-25.
Elliot Anderson registered Forest's only shot on target in the first half but it was a routine save for Flekken.
Nuno opted to shake things up at the break with Nicolas Dominguez brought on for Callum Hudson-Odoi and it initially appeared to be the right call as Forest started brightly.
Elanga, despite being isolated, managed to carve out a sight at goal after driving into the box and his shot was destined for the bottom corner until Flekken tipped it away for a corner.
Wood, who is only one goal shy of becoming the second Forest player to hit 20 in a Premier League season after Stan Collymore (22), struggled to impose himself on the game.
With four games left to play and at least five spaces up for grabs in the Champions League, Forest still remain firmly in the hunt, but defeat - a third in four league outings - means they have lost some control of their destiny and need to rely on others to drop points.
Brentford win 'only seven out of 10 performance' - Frank
Brentford last featured on 19 April and that 12-day break between games looked to be hugely beneficial as they grabbed control of proceedings from the outset.
Sepp van den Berg should have broken the deadlock on 17 minutes when his header from point-blank range forced a smart save from Matz Sels.
Their efforts almost looked to be in vain until Schade lost his man to run in from the left wing and wriggle away from a slipping Ola Aina before finishing.
Brentford were happy to sit back after the restart, trusting they had enough on the counter, and their patience paid off.
Wissa latched on to a long ball from goalkeeper Flekken and with only Sels to beat he showed great composure.
Bryan Mbeumo almost grabbed a third in the closing stages but the Cameroon forward sat back on his shot and it curled over the bar.
Despite not moving up in the standings, Brentford have ensured they are in the race for European football and on track to challenge for their best finish in the Premier League - they finished ninth in 2022-23.
