Wieke Kaptein hit a warning shot earlier on in what has been a competitive match.

It was expected to be a walkover for Chelsea but the Dutch attacker scored a thunderbolt strike with her second effort and you now wonder if this will remain close.

Austria Vienna came into the match as heavy outsiders and one local outlet pointed out that Chelsea Women's squad is worth more than Austria Vienna's men's and women's teams combined.

Also, Chelsea are clearly playing with a back four, despite the Uefa teamsheet listing them in a 3-5-2 formation.

A chance for Vienna to draw level as a corner from the right drops to Katharina Schlechtl and she is unmarked and able to produce a looping header from the back of the box.

Luckily for the Blues, the ball drifts just wide.

Austria Vienna are looking sharp. They've started fast and furious. They're good at carrying the ball - certainly matching Chelsea. Definitely a team not to be complacent about.

A first chance for Chelsea as Alyssa Thompson is far too quick for the Vienna defence down the right flank and she pulls the ball back and Wieke Kaptein's side-footed effort is saved just in front of the post by Jasmin Pal.

Patricia Pfanner of Austria Vienna has the first shot on the game, but it is straight at Livia Peng in the Chelsea goal and he comfortably catches the ball.

Austria Vienna captain Carina Wenninger, moving forwards from a centre-half position, wins a corner off Keira Walsh, but Chelsea clear their lines, thanks to a strong header from Kadeisha Buchanan.

Austria Vienna's first task will be to be competitive, something Swiss side Servette failed to do earlier today in their home game against former champions Lyon, who cruised to an 8-0 win.

In the other teatime game, Belgian side OH Leuven held Roma to a 0-0 draw, with the Italians hitting the post with a last-minute penalty that would have won them the game.

It's unclear whether they live in London or have travelled but there is a group of away supporters dressed in purple with their own block.

They have horns to help them make a bit of noise against the home fans.

It's a huge day for Austria Vienna in their first match against English opposition and first in the Champions League proper.

"I had the chance to win the competition as a player and as a manager, for sure you need to have great players on the pitch but also the experience from these big games is really important because the games sometimes are defined by fine margins and you need to be really focused in those moments of the game."

Club-record Chelsea signing Naomi Girma completed part of the warm-up on her own at Cherry Red Records Stadium.

It remains unclear why the United States international has yet to establish herself as a regular in west London.

Manager Sonia Bompastor suggested it was partly down to adaptation to English football and fitness concerns, but Girma's place on the bench against Austria Vienna only adds further intrigue.

A three-minute advert break during a Women's Champions League game on Tuesday was not scheduled, Disney+ confirmed.

Arsenal and HB Koge were drawing 0-0 in the second half yesterday when coverage was interrupted.

It was one of several technical issues during the coverage, which fans said was "gimmicky" and "undermines" women's football. One guest was a dog with 137,000 Instagram followers.

Disney confirmed it was an unintended interruption caused by a technical issue and understood the frustration caused. It was making steps to ensure it did not happen again.

The coverage also featured a vegetable platter being served and a rotating floor.

Alex Scott hosted the first show of the season, alongside former England forward Lianne Sanderson, content creators Alex Bailess and Tyra Mills, and a dog called Barley Boy.

There was no explanation for his presence on set other than his Instagram following.

When you arrive at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, you first see signage for AFC Wimbledon but as you arrive, there are plenty of Chelsea logos.

I was greeted by Chelsea's mascots Stamford and Bridget the lions, with merchandise on sale in one of the kiosks.

There is one stand open at this high quality League One stadium as Chelsea play their first competitive match.

They had a trial run for a match against Real Sociedad in qualifying.
