Phew, what a Wednesday that was.

29 goals across four Championship and five League One games and storylines galore.

QPR are flying high and Charlton stay unbeaten, Wrexham are off and running after taming the Lions in South London and Burnley salvage a point but remain in the Championship doldrums.

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough took the lead but had to settle for a point at Burnley.

Boro boss Kim Hellberg has told Sky Sports:

"In general it's a strong point away from home, over 90 minutes we were the better team.

"We'd had some chances in the first half to make it 2-0 - I think they will be in the top eight and competing but I'm a little bit disappointed we didn't win with a strong performance.

"If you play a Premier League team who have come down there will always be spells where they are good and they had a good spell for 12 or 15 minutes where we were a bit sloppy with the ball."

On Aidan Morris's first goal for the club on his 86th appearance:

"It's funny, he had a lot of shots with his right foot last season and they were terrible, then he hits one with his left which is useless and he scores - I'm very happy for him."

Burnley

Burnley remain without a league win this season but came from behind to get a point against Middlesbrough.

Defender Connor Roberts has told Sky Sports:

"It's a massive result, if we'd have been flying and won the first three and come back to get a point against a good Middlesbrough side we'd have been delighted.

"In these circumstances it's a fantastic point and something to build on - to come back shows the fans we have the fight in us and we'll hopefully build on it.

"It's been 16 months since I started a game here - it was a big injury for me but I'm delighted to be back alongside some special players."

Rumarn Burrell will get the headlines for his two goals but he couldn't have done it without the work-rate of his strike partner Alfie Lloyd.

The two of them are such a good partnership, strong and fast, and they caused Cardiff all sorts of problems. It's so nice to see two strikers play alongside each other for once.

It was pretty even in the first half but QPR got off to a flyer in the second half. They scored a second but should have had a third, fourth or fifth before Perry Ng's fantastic strike got Cardiff back in it.

But Cardiff couldn't create that one clear chance to take away a point.

That was pretty much the perfect away performance at a really tough place to play that saw the home crowd turn on their team pretty early.

Three goals, a clean sheet and no shots on target faced. They controlled the game, even at three-nil, and the players coming off the bench kept the intensity and energy levels high.

Parkinson has been questioned after their start but he will have known there was a response coming from the team and he made the right changes - bringing back Cleworth and Windass - to get that response.

When you're on top you try and put the team to bed, but 'Boro couldn't do it.

I'm just slightly disappointed, I felt it was there for us.

The midfield partnership was so much better in the second half, let's hope that's the catalyst.

The manager was bold tonight, I applaud it. He needed this result in terms of the second half result, he got a reaction which is great.

QPR and Charlton join Swansea on 10 points and are the three remaining unbeaten teams in the Championship.

You'd have changed your life if you'd managed to bet on this scenario a month ago.

West Brom and Middlesbrough remain in the leading pack after picking up 1-1 draws tonight but Wrexham climb 11 places and into the top-half after the convincing win at out-of-sorts Millwall.

Cardiff have gone from unbeaten Bluebirds to winless Bluebirds in the space of 90 minutes while Burnley's torrid start to the campaign continues despite a creditable draw with Boro.

The Clarets are one of the two other sides yet to win, along with pointless basement-boys Preston.

It's a truly horrible night for Millwall as they lose 3-0 and also lose three more players to injury.

Casper De Norre, Josh Coburn and substitute Zak Lovelace were all forced off for the Lions tonight as it goes from bad to worse for Alex Neil.

As for Wrexham, it was a night to remember.

They register a first win and a first clean sheet of the season and showed exactly why they went so close to securing a play-off spot last season.

The Red Dragons will hope this is exactly the lift-off they needed.

Mansfield scored five against Luton at the weekend, they're now on the receiving end of a thumping.

Two goals from Jack Marriott and strikes from Benn Ward, George Earthy and Jacob Brown sealed a 5-0 win for Reading - their first victory of the season.

Burnley's club-record run without a home league win stretches to 17 games but it might have been worse.

Aidan Morris struck his first Middlesbrough goal on his 86th appearance and then hit a post with another effort from distance as the home side looked well off the pace in the first period.

Ugo Raghouber's fine shot from 25 yards drew Burnley level after the interval but they have work to do if they are to challenge for an immediate return to the Premier League.

Middlesbrough will probably be satisfied with a point.

We will have at least an extra three minutes at Turf Moor to see if we can find a winner.

Amani Richards' late header gave Barnsley a 2-1 win over Blackpool, while Burton fought back from a goal down to beat AFC Wimbledon 4-1.

Callum Marshall's stunner helped Luton to a 2-0 victory against Stockport and Wigan claimed their first points of the season with a 3-1 win over MK Dons.

Reading have just gone 5-0 up against Mansfield through Jacob Brown's tap in.

Ooh, so close for Burnley.

Millwall's perfect start to the season is a distant memory after back-to-back drubbings, though the expected boos don't appear, maybe because so many had left.

Wrexham have their first win of the campaign and pull away from the drop-zone after a clinical performance.

Zak Sturge deflected Jacques Ekomie's low shot into his own net to put the visitors ahead before the break before Kieffer Moore picked his spot from 20 yards to double the lead shortly after it, and Ekomie got a goal of his own to clinch it.

A bad night for Millwall was made worse as both Casper De Norre and Josh Coburn went off with injury. Big blow for Alex Neil.
