Meanwhile, Steven Finn is currently on all fours with his head pressed up to a fan in an attempt to "dry my ear out".

  2. NZ 415-7published at 104 overs

    Josh Tongue into the attack.

Tom Blundell unfurls an expansive drive to a wider delivery from the Nottinghamshire seamer but does not connect.

    Tongue starts with six dots.

Gus Atkinson has found the least seam movement this morning. He is averaging 0.3°, while the rest of the England's seamers are averaging 0.5° or more.

  4. NZ 415-7published at 103 overs

The third umpire was a "little quick on the trigger finger" says Mark Butcher on Sky Sports, although more analysis from the broadcaster seems to back up it did brush the wristband on Mitchell Santer's glove.

Ben Stokes concedes a couple of runs off his latest over then dashes off the field for a few moments.

That Mitchell Santner dismissal is a joke, not even remotely close to his hand.

    Em, Scotland

Is it out if it hits the arm guard but the armguard is overlapping the glove cuff?

    Trev, Somerset

Looked not out but it’s about time we had a bit of luck.

    Nigel, Harrogate

  6. NZ 413-7published at 102 overs

Has the third umpire not done his due diligence here and looked at all angles before making the decision?

The front-on angle looked fairly conclusive but was actually deceptive as it where it actually hit Mitchell Santner with the camera from side on.

Gus Atkinson follows up that over from Ben Stokes with a maiden.

From the replay it's hit his arm guard. UltraEdge has betrayed Mitchell Santner there.

Hmmm. Might be a bit of debate about this one.

Initial replays front one appear to show it has brushed the top of wrist trap on Mitchell Santer's gloves.

However, a TV replay from another angle seem to show it hit the arm guard - which is more pronounced - first.

I wonder if it's hit the sweatband of the glove...

  10. New Zealand reviewpublished at 101 overs

Mitchell Santner turns head away to a Ben Stokes bouncer as he takes evasive action and it seems to brush his the glove on the way through to Jacob Bethell at gully.

Given out on field, but Santner reviews it.

  11. NZ 413-6published at 100.2 overs

Nicely played by Mitchell Santner, who gets off the mark by opening the face to Ben Stokes and guiding him down to third which, as we know, is always vacant.

This is as good a bowling performance by England today as we could have hoped! NZ all out 440? Looking good...

    Marc, Margate

  13. NZ 409-6published at 100 overs

Tom Blundell looks to be settling into his rhythm as he picks up back-toback boundaries off Gus Atkinson.

Blundell deftly guides the first through the cordon then unfurls a drive through extra cover.

  14. NZ 395-6published at 99 overs

Mitchell Santner is the new batter, he defends and leaves a challenging over of Ben Stokes working away outside his off stump.

England turning up the pressure on New Zealand here.

Gus Atkinson doing his job at the other as he chalks up another maiden to keep the pressure on with Ben Stokes doing the damage in the wickets column.

This is good from Ben Stokes. He's making something happen, which most of the other England bowlers haven't done. Stokes is looking the most threatening.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 97 overs

    O’Rourke c Gay b Stokes 19 (NZ 393-6)

Ben Stokes grabs the bull by the horns.

Three slips and a gully in place for Will O'Rourke now, giving the Kiwi the option to play some attacking shots.

After defending and leaving five balls, O'Rourke cracks.

He is tempted to good down the ground but ends up slicing it straight up - leaving Emilio Gay with a simple catch in the ring.
