The medical charity, MSF, warns of a growing food crisis in Ethiopia’s north-eastern Afar region and says large parts of the population there do not have the necessary means to survive.
At least 40 people died in Sunday's attack in Owo in Nigeria's Ondo state, area governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu now says.
And the new president of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has been inaugurated in the capital, Mogadishu, at a ceremony attended by leaders from the region.
