There are now more tigers in captivity in the US than in the wild in the rest of the world according to the World Wide Fund for Nature, as well as large numbers of lions, bears, chimpanzees and other dangerous primates.

Louis Theroux travels to America's heartlands to meet the owners of animals you would normally expect to find in the wilds of Africa and Asia, and finds himself in uncomfortably close contact with tigers and dangerous primates.

Among the owners he meets is Joe Exotic, an animal rescuer and former policeman whose collection of more than 150 tigers is growing fast and is already one of the largest in America. He also meets Connie Casey, a single woman in her sixties who shares her home with 20 chimpanzees that she calls family.

Throughout the film Louis wrestles with the question of whether a "wild" animal can be happy with a life in captivity.

In 1942, Britain was struggling to fight back against Nazi Germany. Lacking the resources for a Second Front, Churchill encouraged innovative and daring new methods of combat.

Enter stage left Blondie Hasler. With a unit of 12 Royal Marine Commandos, Major Blondie Hasler believed his Cockleshell canoe could be effectively used in clandestine attacks on the enemy.

Their brief was to navigate the most heavily defended estuary in Europe, to dodge searchlights, machine gun posts and armed river patrol craft, 70 miles down river and then to blow up enemy shipping in Bordeaux harbour.

Lord Ashdown recreates parts of the raid and explains how it taught vital lessons for one of the greatest land invasions in history: D Day.

Sarah Solemani and Russell Tovey star as Becky and Steve

BBC Three's most successful ever sitcom, starring Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani, returns with seven brand new episodes.

Becky has moved into Steve's flat. Laura, Paul and Shelly come round to congratulate her, though it's spoilt by the fact that they've also invited Julie Taylor – Steve's ex girlfriend.

Russell Tovey plays Steve, Sarah Solemani plays Becky, Kerry Howard plays Laura, Ricky Champ plays Paul, Joe Wilkinson plays Dan and Camille Coduri plays Shelly. Katie Lyons guest stars as Julie Taylor.
