Help playing audio/video The white-water course at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, is a world class facility for white water rafting and kayaking. It holds international events for slalom, freestyle and white water racing. The water is not only for professionals and competitions but also for amateur enthusiasts. ![]() On board with David FlorenceThe 700 metre run will be the main training venue for Team GB in preparation for London 2012 (until the Olympic venue Broxbourne opens in 2011). One of team is slalom canoeist David Florence. He won a gold medal at the World Cup in Augsburg in 2006 and a silver medal in the men's slalom C-1 at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He is hoping for more medals in 2012. David's filmed a section of the National Watersports Centre course to give us a taste of the white water.
