The BBC Television Shakespeare project was a hugely ambitious attempt to bring adaptations of all 37 plays to the small-screen. Transmitted over a seven year period between December 1978 and April 1985, Hamlet, starring Derek Jacobi in the title role was the twelfth of the plays to be aired.
In this soliloquy, Hamlet shares his private feelings with the audience and shows his inner turmoil.
