The UK's armed forces are getting their fair share of media exposure at the moment, so the BBC Voices team on Walney Island thought it only right that a local organisation, funded by the Army, should be heard as well. | Walney Cadets - Corp of Drums members |
The Voices project, which is running on Walney Island for the next three months, aims to uncover some of the stories of the people who, live, work and play on the Island, on radio, TV and the internet. This report, from Paul O'Neill, comes from the BBC's temporary studio base on Walney, and has been compiled under the restrictions imposed by dozens of youngsters practising on musical instruments! Listen as Paul talks to Ray Beckman, Civilian Drum Instructor, and Rachel Diss, Staff Sergeant Instructor, while the cadets rehearse in the background. Listen now online
