Formula One's first foray into the Middle East will take place on a state-of-the-art circuit designed by the sport's favoured circuit consultants.

That means great facilities and a wide track aimed at providing two or three overtaking opportunites.

Rain is unlikely to be a problem for a track that self-consciously runs out into the desert, but sand might well be.
