  4. Sierra breaks backpublished at 15:24 BST

    *Sierra 1-2 Gauff

And in the blink of an eye it's back on serve on Court One.

Solana Sierra gets the job done at the third attempt. That'll do her the world of good.

  5. Deucepublished at 15:24 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 7-5 (7-2) 0-0 Borges*

Jannik Sinner liked that one! Sprinting across the baseline, he wraps his racquet around the ball and drives it beyond an outstretched Nuno Borges at the net. 15-30.

He's less impressed with his forehand two points later, firing it well beyond the baseline, but lets out a small "come on" as Borges gifts deuce.

  6. Break back points Sierrapublished at 15:23 BST

    Sierra 0-2 Gauff*

    Actually hold that thought.

Solana Sierra has other plans. The Argentine looked nervy in the opening couple of games but digs in and earns three break-back points.

  7. Gauff breakspublished at 15:22 BST

    Sierra 0-2 Gauff*

Coco Gauff has an early break!

The American could not have asked for a better start. Gauff might be keen to get this wrapped up quickly so she can watch England play DR Congo at 17:00 BST.

  8. Medvedev takes second setpublished at 15:21 BST

    Merida 6-3 3-6 1-0 Medvedev*

Russian eighth seed Daniil Medvedev has fought back to take the second set 6-3 against Spain's Daniel Merida.

Medvedev is a two-time semi-finalist at Wimbledon while Merida is playing in his first ever second-round match at a Grand Slam.

  9. 'Now a mountain to climb'published at 15:19 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) 0-0 Borges*

Seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC One

That is a bit of killer blow for Borges losing the second set.

He had done a great job controlling the game from the mid-court.

He played a very good set, but couldn't hold his serve. His speed dropped on his forehand. He blinked, gave Sinner that opportunity and now he has a mountain to climb.

  10. Gauff holdspublished at 15:18 BST

    *Sierra 0-1 Gauff

After watching top seed Aryna Sabalenka battle to a straight set win earlier on Court One, Coco Gauff will be eager to do the same.

The American makes a positive start with a routine hold to 15.

  11. 'Borges handed that set to Sinner'published at 15:17 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) 0-0 Borges*

    Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Nuno Borges hasn't got a good record against top players and you wonder why because he is a very good player, but perhaps that set explains it.

He was serving for the set and made four unforced errors. He got to the tie-breaker and made another three or four unforced errors.

He is walking off the court, to go and change his shirt, shaking his head. He should be because he just handed that set to Jannik Sinner.

Jannik Sinner gets a hefty applause as he wraps up the second set, but the crowd have switched allegiances.

The majority are trying to rally behind Nuno Borges now and he was welcomed to the baseline with a huge roar when he changed ends during that tie-break.

    Sierra 0-0 Gauff*

Right, off we go on Court One with Coco Gauff on serve.

  15. Game and second set - Sinnerpublished at 15:14 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) 0-0 Borges*

Nuno Borges served for the set at 5-4 but as he walks off the court for a break, he's down two sets to love. A loose backhand sealed his fate in the tie-break.

    Penny for his thoughts.

  16. Tie-break - set points Sinnerpublished at 15:14 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (6-2) Borges

The backhand winner is followed by a forehand winner. At the back end of this second set, Jannik Sinner has relocated his radar.

  17. Tie-breakpublished at 15:13 BST

    *Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (5-2) Borges

Oh yes! That might be Jannik Sinner's best shot of the day as he finally nails a backhand down the line, the ball landing centimetres from the tramline.

  18. Tie-breakpublished at 15:11 BST

    Sinner 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (3-2) Borges*

Excellent defence from Jannik Sinner to scramble on his backhand and get the ball back into play. It bounces up high in front of Nuno Borges but he puts his forehand into the net. The value of forcing your opponent to play an extra shot, eh?

It's Joao Fonseca time on court 3.

The Brazilian sensation always draws a big crowd from back home in South America. Temporarily, this is going to turn to Copacabana for his second-round match.

It's all been very straightforward in the ladies' singles draw. Just two of the top 20 seeds have been handed an early exit - eighth seed Elina Svitolina and 20th seed Maja Chwalinska.

Argentina's Solana Sierra is looking to add another seed to that list but history suggests she has her work cut out to send seventh seed Coco Gauff home early.

The pair have met twice previously - both earlier this year - with Gauff coming out on top on both occasions.
