A professional and well-polished victory from Zverev. We haven't seen this before from him in previous Grand Slams, he looks calm and collected. Surely, surely?!

I just think having Sinner go out has really helped Zverev. I think he needed to come to terms with the fact that this might be his tournament.

Finally from Alexander Zverev, speaking on Court Philippe-Chatrier about his coach: "My coach has not told me anything for 25 years. I wish he would tell me something sometimes!

"I have lost so many matches in my life and still doesn't say anything, so it doesn't change."

On the French crowd: "The atmosphere here is always amazing. The French crowd is always into tennis. It is such a historic event. The atmosphere is amazing. I just enjoy playing on this beautiful court.

"The toughest, but in some ways the nicest because you know that anything can happen at any given moment, and you can always try and find a way.

"Here you have to fight for every point, and play for every point like it is your last. This is the fun part about Roland Garros."

On what he feels and whether there were nerves: "There is nothing in my head. To be honest, as athletes, very few of us have anything in our head anyway.

"Sometimes it is easier to be stupid."

Alexander Zverev, speaking on Court Philippe-Chatrier after defeating Jakub Mensik: "Amazing the way he has played these last two weeks. He beat so many unbelievable players and I knew it was going to be the toughest challenge I had so far. I managed, I won and I am happy.

"He started playing amazing in the third set. He stepped up to another level. This is a Grand Slam and five-set matches, things are going to happen. Opponents are going to play better, and you have to deal with it. I did. I hope to play another great match on Sunday."

What a fortnight for Jakub Mensik, who gets a standing ovation as he walks out of Court Philippe-Chatrier.

A first Grand Slam semi-final and he'll be back inside the top 20 next week.

This has to be Alexander Zverev's best chance to get his hands on that elusive Grand Slam.

There will be no Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz or Dominic Thiem - the three men that have defeated him in major finals.

In fact, he won't even face a top-10 player in the final. It will be either Flavio Cobolli, the world number 14, or 104th-ranked Matteo Arnaldi.

Alexander Zverev is through to his fourth Grand Slam final!

He had two match points but only needed one, bringing a loose backhand from Jakub Mensik.

A relatively muted celebration from the German. He's one win away from his maiden major title.

How Jakub Mensik, after spending so long on court to get to this stage, has the energy to cling on in these lengthy baseline rallies, I don't know. After all that, he comes on the approach and nails the backhand winner for 30-15.

He's making Alexander Zverev serve for it.

Umpire Keothavong gets out of his chair to call Jakub Mensik's serve in - an ace. Alexander Zverev isn't amused. 30-15.

However, from 40-15, Mensik is pulled back to deuce with a couple of tired shots.
