  1. Coming up...O'Sullivan v Higginspublished at 17:45 BST

    Match schedule for this evening.

With the afternoon session concluded live coverage of the World Snooker Championship on BBC Sport website and on iPlayer has taken a short break.

We will also pause this live text commentary as well.

However, you do not have to wait long until the evening session which gets underway at 19:00 BST and it promises to be a cracker as Ronnie O'Sullivan resumes his match with John Higgins in a battle of the Class of 92.

O'Sullivan leads 6-2 but write off Higgins at your peril.

We will also have an eye on Mark Selby's match with Wu Yize, which is currently locked at 4-4 from this morning.

You'll be able to watch the action on BBC Four and via the iPlayer, and follow updates here.

  2. Robertson ends Sunday four uppublished at 17:39 BST

    Robertson 10-6 Wakelin

    stats

Yep, the 'Thunder from Down Under' compiles a superb 101 break to ensure a four-frame cushion heading into tomorrow's final session.

He only needs three frames to seal a first quarter-final appearance in five years.

Chris Wakelin may not sleep well tonight after that controversial foul call at 7-6 which, as it stands, looks to have had a massive impact on this match.

    Trump 9-7 Vafaei

Judd Trump v Hossein Vafaei match stats

Here's a breakdown of the stats of the match between Judd Trump and Hossein Vafaei after that session.

They will play to a finish on Monday evening.

  4. Postpublished at 17:34 BST

    Robertson 9-6 Wakelin

Pivotal final frame of the session, you feel.

If Neil Robertson establishes a 10-6 lead, game over surely. 9-7 not so sure.

But the former is looking the likeliest as the Aussie is at the table and on a 47 break... oh and he's opened the reds lovely.

    Trump 9-7 Vafaei

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Four

Clinical stuff from Judd Trump who is showing immense mental strength against an inspired opponent. Both players have played their part in this contest and be in excess of 90% with their pot success, but Trump must be feeling good about his game.

Judd Trump ends this session with a two frame lead

Could this prove be a pivotal frame in the context of this riveting match?

Judd Trump gives himself a two-frame cushion in the final one of the session as he notches up a break of 94 - just missing the century on the black.

Two visits for Trump but Hossein Vafaei is unable to lay a glove on him in between.

  7. Robertson three uppublished at 17:19 BST

    Robertson 9-6 Wakelin

Chris Wakelin must feel like the world is against him.

Bad enough that Neil Robertson compiles a fine 65 to compound his misery from the previous frame...

But the Aussie then flukes a red to make completely sure of the frame.

  8. Trump back in frontpublished at 17:10 BST

Hossein Vafaei sits stone faced in his chair powerless as Judd Trump banks back-to-back frames.

The world number compiles a gritty break of 74 to regain the lead in what has been a tight match in both sessions.

Trump is one frame ahead but it would not be a surprise to see this session end with things all square again.

When Chris followed through, the cue does make a tiny movement towards the yellow and we can't see that - Peggy would be in a better position to see.

She wouldn't have called it unless she was sure, especially on review.

Very impressed with Vafaei. Not seen him play this well for years. Really good I think he will beat Trump...

  12. Postpublished at 17:05 BST

    Robertson 8-6 Wakelin

Chris Wakelin is in deep conversation with referee Peggy Li during the little break between frames.

She seems to be telling him his cue ever-so-slightly touched the yellow ball when potting the red in that previous frame.

Must have been miniscule contact as the cameras didn't pick it up from what we can see.

  13. Postpublished at 17:01 BST

    Robertson 8-6 Wakelin

TV replays did not seem conclusive in regards to that alleged foul by Chris Wakelin.

What do we think, readers? Foul, yay or nay? Hit the thumbs.

  14. Robertson two up again after controversypublished at 16:59 BST

    Robertson 8-6 Wakelin

Chris Wakelin's reaction to that frame will be interesting.

He did not seem convinced he fouled that yellow when sitting in his chair afterwards.

Neil Robertson did what you'd expect a player of his quality to do and knocked in all the balls he needed to with a break of 65.

  15. Postpublished at 16:56 BST

    Trump 7-7 Vafaei

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Four

A fantastic century break from Judd Trump. It's been a fantastic standard of snooker this afternoon. Really high quality.

  16. Trump pegs it back againpublished at 16:55 BST

    Trump 7-7 Vafaei

It's almost been as if Judd Trump has been listening to Stephen Hendry's comments from the commentary box today.

The world number draws level with Hossein Vafaei as he delivers a superb century break to win the frame in just one visit as per Hendry's request.

Trump is not quite able to complete the clearance after missing the final red with the rest, but that will not matter on iota to the Englishman.

  17. Postpublished at 16:54 BST

    Robertson 7-6 Wakelin

Chris Wakelin is not gonna die wondering.

Not everything he's tried has come off, but he is going attack, attack, attack.

But a huge moment as he pots a long red but apparently feathers the nearby yellow with his cue in doing so.

The ref calls a foul and asks for a replay - and is happy with her decision when she sees it.

MASSIVE moment. It looked like going 7-7 with Wakelin 40-odd up but now...

  18. Postpublished at 16:44 BST

    Trump 6-7 Vafaei

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Four

Hossein Vafaei has been very composed in this match and takes the lead again. Judd Trump has not really got into the extra gear where he wins frames in one visit in this match, or in the World Snooker Championship as a whole, yet.

  19. Wakelin 'hanging on in there'published at 16:43 BST

    Robertson 7-6 Wakelin

    Gary Wilson
Former Crucible semi-finalist on BBC Sport

When Chris potted that red, he had a small little shake of the head as if to say "I've made hard work of this".

He's just trying to find something to get himself going in this match - he knows he's not playing well but he's hanging on in there and that's all you can do sometimes.

  20. Clinical Vafaei nips in frontpublished at 16:41 BST

    Trump 6-7 Vafaei

    Media caption,

Hossein Vafaei takes the lead against world number one

Very little to choose between these two players before the mid-session interval the match appears to be following the same pattern after it.

Another tight frame of nip and tuck before Hossein Vafaei is able to capitalise on a chance.

At 39-18 in Judd Trump's favour the Englishman leaves a red on escaping a snooker and Vafaei carefully constructs a clearance with a break of 65 to seal the frame.

How will the world number one respond to going behind?
