    "It's brilliant, it's great to see these iconic events and to be in there is so special. It's so much smaller than its looks on TV, it's so intimate.

    "I've played in World Cups and FA Cup finals and games you need to win to win the league and it's a bit like that, but people are really close to you so it must be really pressurised."

    On his own snooker prowess: "I used to play quite a bit because I used to have a snooker table. 58 is my biggest break, but the fishing rods have overtaken the snooker cue."

    Bucket list moment with my eldest! Our first final, it's everything we hoped it would be. Crucible atmosphere is amazing! Nervous just watching so not sure how the players do it! What a special place.

    This match feels somewhat like a repeat of last year's final - young up-and-coming Chinese superstar vs experienced Brit. While Murphy is no Mark Williams, I wouldn't be surprised if we get an almost identical result to last year.

    Shaun needed that and it was a good break.

    It's not been how we expected, we thought it would be fire and brimstone from the beginning and it's been a slow burner.

    I think both will settle down and it will get a lot better over the course of this final.

    Shaun is a bit of a showman and he won't have been happy with the way those first three frames went. He just seemed to start punching the ball a little bit better in that break.

    It's nice to see him settle into the final.
