It has been Wigan Warriors' day in more ways that one this afternoon.

Neither the men's nor women's team had a point put on them in their Challenge Cup semi-final.

Wigan's women got the day started in some style, running riot for a 52-0 victory against York Valkyrie.

Jack Farrimond then went on to take centre stage in what really was an all-star Warriors performance as they thumped St Helens 32-0 in the men's tie.

While we are done for the day at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, we will be back for more tomorrow with the remaining semi-finals.

Both ties, starting with St Helens v Leeds Rhinos in the women's Challenge Cup at 13:00 BST before Warrington Wolves take on Hull KR from 16:00 BST, will be covered right here on the BBC Sport website.

Please do join us again tomorrow.

    FT: St Helens 0-32 Wigan

St Helens boss Paul Rowley told BBC Sport:

"I thought Wigan won all the big moments, particularly in that first half.

"We had a penalty count that didn't do us any favours. When we look back at it, territoriality, we were pretty good but, yeah, big moments.

"There will be a lot to learn from it because it really stings. Respect and credit to Wigan because they really earned the big moments and that's what they've got as a reward - they get to play at Wembley.

"We've got a Thursday night game - the rugby gods haven't been kind on us - but that might be just what we need."

Wigan boss Matt Peet told BBC Sport on his side preventing St Helens from scoring:

"We deserved the nil today. It represents how good we were defensively and how much it mattered to us.

"We've got to bottle that and take that with us next week."

On following his club's women's team thrashing York Valkyrie 52-0 in their Challenge Cup semi-final earlier today: "The girls are doing amazing. They understand what the club is about and they're certainly adding to the atmosphere at the club."

Wigan boss Matt Peet told BBC Sport on getting to a third Challenge Cup final:

"Is it? Yeah it is. Looking forward to it - I don't care who we play; it was more about Good Friday (when Wigan lost to St Helens).

"It was more about not letting St Helens get there and it did mean a bit more today.

"I just knew that we weren't going to get beat today.

"I'm very proud. I had a good feeling this week. It's a young group, I'm proud of them regardless, they're such fine, young men.

"It's a pleasure to work with them, and when they turn up like that they're tough to beat."

It's been a day of double semi-final delight for Wigan Warriors at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, as both their women's and men's team have romped their way to their respective Challenge Cup finals.

Question is, who will meet them at Wembley?

St Helens will face Leeds Rhinos in the women's semi-final tomorrow, while Warrington Wolves do battle with holders Hull KR in the men's competition.

Player of the match Jack Farrimond told BBC One:

"I think we were amazing. One through to 17, all the lads, we've had a rough spot and I think we've come out the other side and are in a better place.

"All the lads have dug in well and got the reward for it.

On his superb solo try: "That's my best attribute - a bit of a broken space and I spotted a gap, pinned my ears back, and luckily I got there.

On going to Wembley: "Yeah, buzzing, it will be my first time in the squad, hopefully I'm picked. Looking forward to it, absolutely buzzing."

Wigan are heading to Wembley in style.

Jack Farrimond has capped a magic afternoon for himself with a stunner of a solo try.

The ball was dished out to the right, but he decided to cut back on his left before zig-zagging his way under the sticks.

The conversion is good and the Warriors are just moments from having their place in the Challenge Cup final confirmed.

That's the great thing about our game.

Despite the efforts of the last tackle, spittle flying around, they (both sets of players) look after each other. They know when somebody's genuinely hurt.
