The 23rd Commonwealth Games is official open, according to King Charles.

Best get on with the sport now, then...

The King hails the Commonwealth as a "unique and extraordinary family of nations" and talks about how the baton also carried a message about the need to end plastic pollution of oceans and rivers.

He says Glasgow will welcome the Games and all involved with "warm hearts and open arms".

King Charles is now reading out the message that he placed in the baton 500 days ago, See the synergy with the song now? Clever, eh?

That's the King's Baton arrived.

It's paraded around the arena by Scottish swimmer Hannah Miley and compatriot and Para-cyclist Neil Fachie, before being handed to basketball player Kieron Achara.

He then presents it to King Charles. Time for his big moment...
