He takes the first bronze medal in the men's -90kg category, bringing down New Zealand's Noah Wallis right at the end and is greeted by cheers inside the SEC Centre.

The medals keep coming for Wales and for Emma Finucane.

She is back out at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome to pick up her gold medal for the women's 1000m time trial.

This is the third time Finucane has stood at the top of the podium during these Commonwealth Games.

Australia's Claudia Marcks is the silver medallist and Ellesse Andrews of New Zealand gets the bronze.

This was a new event for the games having previously been over 500m.

Newly-crowned gold medallist Kelly Petersen-Pollard has been describing what it means to have beaten Australia's Aoife Coughlan to win the women's -70kg final.

"I'm chuffed with that. We are always fighting on the world tour," she told TNT Sports. "I fought her literally a few weeks ago and it went to penalties and that time she won, and now me."

"It's so nice, especially after Birmingham [2022 Commonwealth Games], I wasn't as happy as I could have been getting bronze, I felt half like I disappointed people, even though I didn't and now it's such a nice feeling."

Tayte Ryan holds him at arm's length throughout and the Australian takes the bronze medal with a powerful sprint to the line.
