    Hampshire Hawks 129 v Durham 2-0

    Rita Green
Ex-cricketer and commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I don't think actually that 130 is a gimmie. I'm calling it early.

  2. The chase beginspublished at 1 over

    Hampshire Hawks 129 v Durham 2-0

Low key start to the chase made by Durham, whose openers Mady Villiers and Hollie Armitage get off the mark at either end by rotating. Tight start from Bex Tyson with the ball.

  3. 'We couldn't adapt to the conditions'published at 16:05 BST

The Blaze beat Surrey by six wickets

Surrey coach Johann Myburgh, speaking after the semi-final defeat to the Blaze:

“Looking at the wicket this morning, we knew it wasn’t a typical Oval wicket. We felt it was going to be a little slow, which seemed to be the case.

“I thought we had a really strong powerplay, which got us into a decent position. But on a slower wicket that middle period is a crucial part of the game and unfortunately we couldn’t get enough meaningful partnerships and adapt to the conditions quickly enough to get a score.

“If we’d got anything between 130 and 150, we’ve shown in the recent past that it’s something we could have defended and we’d have been confident of defending it.

“Credit to the (bowling) unit, even with a below par score I felt they made it as difficult as possible for them to chase that, which probably reiterates the point that maybe even 125 is something we could potentially have defended.”

Interesting to see Lauren Filer talking about the pace of the pitch.

She's not the only one to have mentioned it this afternoon...

  5. 'Change of pace worked well'published at 16:01 BST

    Hampshire Hawks 129-8 v Durham

    Hampshire Hawks

Durham bowler Lauren Filer speaking to Sky Sports:

"It's so nice, every time I come back to Durham, I love how they give me the sort of responsibility I really like.

"Just good to get out there with the girls, especially at the Oval, it's really lovely here.

"It's probably not as quick and bouncy as a normal Oval pitch but the change of pace is probably really effective, especially for our seamers.

"I think that was the message as soon as we got the first couple of wickets, the change of pace and being slightly fuller than usual."

A boundary for the first time in five overs for Hampshire who end their innings with a decent over.

It's wide outside off stump from Heather Graham and Naomi Dattani swipes hard, slicing behind square for four.

Dattani then smashes down the ground but Grace Thompson does brilliantly to prevent the four with an outstretched arm at long-off and the Hawks pick up two instead.

Three more singles follow as Hampshire pick up 11 from the over to set a target of 130.

    Tulloch c Filer b Turner 7 (Hampshire Hawks 118-8 v Durham)

This is another great over for Durham.

That's now four overs since the last boundary for Hampshire in an innings that's never really got going.

And now the Hawks lose another wicket with that build up of pressure as Poppy Tulloch skies it to Lauren Filer at mid-off from the bowling of Sophia Turner.

    Hampshire Hawks 118-7 v Durham

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Durham have kept the pressure on. Hampshire have lost wickets on a regular basis. Nobody has got in. There have been no partnerships. There has been no rhythm to the innings. It all looks like hard work.

You have to put that down to Durham, who have just bowled straight on the whole, and have watched Hampshire contribute to their own downfall.

    Hampshire Hawks 115-7 v Durham

Hampshire have struggled to pick up boundaries with any great deal of consistency. Credit to the bowling and fielding from Durham.

Just four singles from the over by Katie Levick.

Naomi Dattani gets away with one big time.

Poppy Tulloch comes back for two, but Dattani hesitates and the throw comes into Heather Graham, but the bowler cannot gather cleanly and ends up taking the bails off with her hands rather than ball.

Dattani wasn't even in shot and would've been a long way out if Graham had executed well.

Still a very solid over from Graham that goes for just six runs.

Brilliant over by Katie Levick. Just one run from it and a wicket to boot.

There is indeed a very fine nick from Amanda-Jade Wellington, who was attempting the reverse sweep against Katie Levick.

Great catch by Mia Rogers behind the stumps, moving sharply to her left, and Wellington has to go.

  13. Umpire reviewpublished at 15.2 overs

    Hampshire Hawks 105-6 v Durham

Big appeal from Durham wicketkeeper Mia Rogers, who is convinced Katie Levick has found the outside edge of Amanda-Jade Wellington's bat.

Durham are reviewing the not out decision.

    Isabelle Duncan

They're in a bit of trouble, Hampshire, trouble and strife. They need to pump up this run rate. They are leaving it a little late. We're into the death overs now.

  15. 100 runs

100 up for Hampshirepublished at 15 overs

    Hampshire Hawks 104-6 v Durham

Wickets have been tumbling for Hampshire but Naomi Dattani is undeterred.

She plays a lovely shot with a flick of the wrists towards deep backward square for a one-bounce four off Sophia Turner.

Amanda-Jade Wellington ends the over with a sweet cover drive which races away for four to go with three singles and a wide outside off stump from Turner.

That's the 100 up for the Hawks.

Not that complicated really why smith and bell were not picked she wanted to reward the players that got them there smith and bell didn’t play

    Stephen, Fareham

Which is fair enough... but, it IS Final's Day... what do you think of this? Stay loyal to the ones who got you there or pick your best possible XI?

    Hampshire Hawks 92-6 v Durham

A single for Naomi Dattani to end the over from Lauren Filer but just four runs from it, as well as the wicket of Rhianna Southby.

Work to do for Hampshire to post a meaningful target.

Why did Adams leave Lindsay Smith and Lauren Bell out of the team, when both were available? Villiers and Filer are playing for Durham.

    Colin, Bournemouth

A very good question, Colin, we presume all will become clear after this match is over.

Something about batting first at the Oval in the Women's T20 Blast this season that is not ideal.

Seven games played before this one in 2026 and seven wins for the team batting second.

Are we about to see it happen again here?

  20. wicket

    Southby c Heath b Filer 14 (Hampshire Hawks 89-6 v Durham)

Another one goes. Rhianna Southby has been trying to hit the ball out of the ground the past few overs and it proves her undoing.

Southby spoons one straight to Bess Heath at mid-on off Lauren Filer and she goes for 14.

Durham are in the ascendancy here.
