Winning jockey Paul Townend speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "What a horse. He’s so good, so tough. To carry that much weight and come back here twice was hard and to come back here a third time, it is surreal.
"He travelled better in the middle I’d say, the cheekpiece just helped me at that stage of the race. Every time I gave him a tap on the neck, he was happy with the horse. I wasn’t going to look for it until I need to. Obviously didn’t travel as well as the first year. I was always happy that there was horse there when I needed it.
"I probably can’t do it justice to be honest because it is just surreal now. How lucky am I to be riding these horses? It is definitely not wasted on me. When I grew up, jockeys were superheroes to me and I can’t believe I am part of that big circle now."

More from Grand National winning trainer Willie Mullins, who was asked what keeps him going: "I am very simple. It is about earning a living. Every year I spend more money on the gallop. I enjoy it. I enjoy the people in racing. I enjoy the people in sport. Sportspeople are fantastic, they have a great outlook on life. We are all well used to getting beaten in finals, semi-finals or whatever and to me, that passion is wonderful. To be able to take those knocks and pat the next guy on the back - I love all that. The older I get, the more I enjoy it.
"When I was younger it was more about winning and wanting to win and needing to win but now I can see the bigger picture of sport and I enjoy it and I am very lucky as I said earlier on, I have a team that do everything for me. Those guys take over and I try and not get in the way. They do their job fantastically. Where would we be without our staff?"

More from Grand National winning trainer Willie Mullins, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I have got so many people that help me and I always look at my assistant trainers, my owners. Where would we be without the people putting investment in the business?"
On winning a third consecutive Grand National: "That is some company to be up there with Vincent O'Brien. He is a legend of legends in the game. To be lucky enough to be mentioned in the same breath as him is just off the charts. You never dream of that sort of thing."

Grand National winning trainer Willie Mullins speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "It was really special. People from the outside looking at it may not realise how cool Paul Townend was. Most guys would have teared after Jordans but Paul just sat there, came round the bend and you could see the clock in his head turning. Sure enough, as they came the second last and came to the elbow, he could sense he was coming back to him and then he just applied the accelerator and he was away.
"I have always known he is such a good horse and I have always had such good faith in him and I wanted to go down the Gold Cup route this year because he has won a Grand National but JP [McManus] was insistent, this horse loves Aintree. His good judgement has proved correct."

The dream is over for Bass Hunter but the dream just keeps going for Dan Skelton who lands another winner - his fourth of the day.
Miss Heidi Palin the jockey on this one rather than Harry Skelton but she's given a massive hug by Harry who looks delighted for her.
It was a great ride and it needed to be with Bass Hunter looking so comfortable for the majority of the race.
What an incredible day for Dan Skelton.

A steady pace in the early stages and plenty of time to go but it's safe to say that Bass Hunter is setting said pace.

So, for the final time today.
We are under way!

The six-year-old, trained by Chris Gordon and ridden by son Freddie, is in fine form with two wins in the last three but this would be the most significant of the lot.
We have seen long odds winners in this one in the past but could we see a repeat once again here as we close out another year at the Grand National?
Another update on one of the fallers to bring you.
Mr Vango is currently being assessed following a fall during the Grand National.

Grand National winning jockey Davy Russell, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Paul [Townend] is very used to these big occasions but this is what it's all about. His family are steeped in racing history and he will have dreamed of these days for so long. I just hope he will soak the whole lot in.
"Willie Mullins is soaked in media but he wants to go and meet Paul, he wants to meet his champion."
I Am Maximus wins the Grand National
The Grand National is the most valuable contest in jump racing with a total prize fund of £1m.
Racehorse owners receive about 80% of the prize money with the remainder mainly split between trainers, jockeys and stable staff.

Grand National winning jockey Davy Russell, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Unbelievable. Paul Townend was fantastic. He is looking to the skies because he lost his mum a couple of years ago to cancer and he is just a fabulous champion jockey.
"He gave him the most outrageous ride. It looked for all the world that Jordans was home and hosed but he wore him down. The horse really set alight. He looked fantastic beforehand but he has retained the Grand National, something that is so hard to do. "
Image source, PA MediaSome more positive news to bring you.
We mentioned earlier that Top Of The Bill was being assessed on the course.
The good news is he is up and walking back to the stables.
Stellar Story jockey Robbie Dunne has been taken to hospital following a nasty fall, but he is conscious and talking.
Winning jockey Paul Townend tells ITV Racing: "He's tough. I think the cheekpieces helped in the middle of the race.
When they jumped off, I got into a good rhythm but I wasn't going to be the one chasing the ones in front.
"He's a really, really good horse and although Grangeclare West and Nick Rockett looked good in training, this lad wasn't telling me not to ride him.
"He is so good and has such an engine. He will gallop to the end of the world for you. I am really privileged. What a horse.
"Grand Nationals and Gold Cups are the pinnacle of the sport and I have them both."
Winning trainer Willie Mullins on ITV Racing: "It was a good call from JP [McManus]. I'd have gone down the Gold Cup route with him but he wanted to run him at Aintree.
"This horse is just a superstar. Nothing fazes him and does what he has to do - runs, jumps and wins Nationals.
"Paul executed it so well. This is the race we all aspire to when we get into racing. Just to have a runner is a tremendous sensation."
A couple of bits of news to bring you following that race.
Top Of The Bill is being assessed on course after falling.
Quai De Bourbon, also a faller, has walked onto an ambulance for further assessment.
I Am Maximus' owner JP McManus is also into the history books after that win.
He becomes the first owner in Grand National history to record four winners.
