Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson has made three changes to the side that started the 4-1 Conference League defeat by Freiburg on Thursday night.

Midfielder Tom Sparrow returns from injury and goes straight into the starting line-up. Centre-back Martin Moormann and winger Regan Charles-Cook are also in from the start.

Jake Girdwood-Reich, Ewan Wilson and Seb Palmer-Houlden are the players to make way.

St Mirren have made four changes from the heavy League Cup defeat by Rangers two weeks ago.

On-loan Liverpool right-back Calvin Ramsey and Nikolas Agrafiotis, the striker bought from German third-tier club Wehen Wiesbaden this morning, are in from the start, while defender Louis Jackson, also signed from Manchester United today, is available from the bench.

After missing the game at Ibrox, on-loan Rangers midfielder Paul Nsio is back in the starting XI, as is centre-back Henry Fieldson. Jayden Richardson, Marcus Fraser, Killian Phillips and Eseosa Sule drop out.

It has been confirmed that it was not just a push by Kevin Nisbet for Aberdeen's disallowed goal, but he was also offside.

In the end, a deserved win for Rangers - and how big a win could that be for them and manager Derek McInnes?

Make no mistake, they were under real pressure going in to this one after recent disappointments. They stepped up when it counted, the performance was vastly improved as they got the victory that could be oh so important.

McInnes - and the Rangers fans - will be hoping this can be the turning point, the launchpad for better fortunes ahead.

As for Aberdeen, perhaps they will feel this was a missed opportunity. They may also feel a bit hard done by given how the game unfolded in the latter stages.

In the end, they got nothing and it doesn't get any easier for them - a midweek trip to champions Celtic is up next for them.
