Scotland head coach Sebastien Pocognoli tells BBC Scotland: "Yeah, you know, it's the first game, so we are really excited.

"We had a good camp behind us.

"We try as quickly as possible to implement some aspects of the game that I hope we can see today, and of the pitch, the cohesion between the new players and the oldest ones was good.

"So I think today we need a good game to increase what we saw during the week.

"Try to find the right balance between being solid defensively and having some power attack.

"We will see if we can find the right balance. What we practised this week was going well, but the game is a different context.

"[We will] try to be a little bit higher on the pitch, but the most important thing is that you watch the game and maybe offer your own perception, make your analysis.

"But I hope, yes, that we will be a little bit higher on the pitch, on the front foot and try to have some good pattern on the ball, which is probably the most challenging part of the game.

"Off the ball, we need to be really solid and to be solid doesn't mean that we have to wait for the opponent, so try to be as high as possible."

Slovenia manager Bostjan Cesar was sent off in that 2-2 draw against Scotland.

He's waiting for his first victory after two defeats and a draw.

The hosts have just one win from their past 10 matches.

Scotland have never lost in five prior meetings with Slovenia.

Three of those matches have been draws, including the past two away games.

In the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign, Scotland sneaked a 1-0 win at Hampden thanks to a late Chris Martin goal.

In the final round of games Leigh Griffths and Robert Snodgrass were on target either side of a Roman Bezjak double as Gordon Strachan's side finished third and missed the play-offs.

Be ready for the ball to get out wide to the wing-backs, time, and time, and time again, and to be hammered into the box.

Sebastien Pocognoli is not a newcomer to international football.

As a tough-tackling left-back, he played 13 times for Belgium from 2008-13.

He also has a spell of his country's Under-18 side after youth coaching gigs at USG and Genk.

Any new appointment is a gamble.

Sebastien Pocognoli is a relative novice though, with a mere 107 matches under his belt as a manager.

He guided Union Saint-Gilloise to their first league title in 90 years in his debut season.

A near 57% win rate earned him a move to Monaco in October last year, but he was ditched in the summer after a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1.

When you look at what Robbie Ure and Oli McBurnie have done domestically over the last couple of seasons, you know they're good players, but they score goals too.

We have lacked that potent goalscorer, so can we give them plenty of supply?

The players that have been named make me think we certainly can.
