This Allianz Stadium, also known as Sydney Football Stadium, is a really state-of-the-art ground.

The 45,000-seater ground has got all the glitz and glamour of an American stadium with pyro, flashing lights and big screens.

It also feels like the type of football ground that wouldn't be out of place in the Premier League. It's just a shame about the poor quality of the playing surface.

Luca Williams-Barnett's first action of the game is to shift the ball onto his left foot and release a shot onto the woodwork.

Positive.

Sandro Tonali, Kota Takai and Luca Williams-Barnett come on for Lucas Bergvall, Ben Davies and Mathys Tel.

It will be exciting to see the £100m club-record signing make an impact, while Williams-Barnett, who is the current gem of academy has hit the bar after a brilliant dribble with his first touches.

New signing Sandro Tonali is on for Lucas Bergvall.

That should be a really interesting one.

Erm, I admire the positivity Sesquo. Not sure what else to say really.

Solid half from a youthful Spurs side. Mathys Tel has looked bright. and Conor Gallagher has got in some good positions but lacked a bit of end product.

It hasn't been a classic at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney.

Mathys Tel scored a fantastic free-kick but beyond that, Spurs had half a dozen half-chances, with Sydney FC having had a couple themselves, albeit including a brilliant effort from 45 yards.

It's unsurprising, therefore, that referee Adam Kersey blew for half-time as soon as 45 minutes was up and many supporters will be hoping for some more excitement to come from the bench and in the second half.

Tottenham have had 58% possession. A dominant opening 20-25 minutes but Sydney grew into it in the second period of the first half.

Spurs have had eight shots with three on target while Sydney have had four with one on target.

Tottenham ahead at the break thanks to Mathys Tel.

Spurs have had plenty of chances but just the one goal in it at the break.

Almost a bit of a nightmare for Martin Dubravka as Mathias Macallister again has the keeper unsettled. This time Macallister beats Dubravka to the ball and his dinked effort flies over the keeper's head.

Luckily for Dubravka there was a Spurs defender there to mop up and prevent it finding the back of the net.

Mathys Tel is looking powerful, quick and dangerous in moments when Tottenham attack.

The 21-year-old forward seems capable of physically dominating this lesser opposition and saved a pass through his sheer speed when Manor Solomon overhit one to him.

Sydney FC have their own vocal fans inside the Allianz Stadium and were nearly delighted when Mathias Macallister shot just wide from inside his own half.

Well, that would have been some goal.

Mathias Macallister spots Martin Dubravka off his line and goes for goal from the halfway line.

The Spurs keeper was worried and starts backtracking but, luckily for him, the shot drops wide.

Rio Kyerematen picks up the ball just inside the area and is aiming for the near post but he drags it a little and the keeper gets down to his right to make the save.

Conor Gallagher just can't catch a break here. For the third time this half he goes close.

This time it's an arrowed strike towards the near post but it's a tight angle and he can only clip the post.

Woops, goalkeeper Gus Hoefsloot slips as he goes to clear the ball and it drops to Conor Gallagher, who almost takes advantage but is off balance himself and can't get a clean strike away.
