Vinicius Jr is moaning but it's good pressure from Japan. It's respect. Japan know he's a good player so they're getting around him and not letting him turn.

Hiroki Ito gives away possession cheaply in the middle allowing Vinicius Jr to drive into the box.

    Brazil 0-0 Japan

Now a yellow card for Casemiro four a foul on Junya Ito and a free-kick right at the edge of the box for Japan.

    Brazil 0-0 Japan

    Chris Sutton

Brazil are controlling the game. The Matheus Cunha effort, left-footed centrally and I think it is heading wide, but Zion Suzuki couldn't be taking any chances.

  9. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Brazil 0-0 Japan

Matheus Cunha tries his luck with a low drive from the edge of the box.

It might have been going just wide but Zion Suzuki is taking no chances here and gloves it behind for a corner.

A delightful ball over the top helps Danilo get behind the Japan backline and into the box.

    Brazil 0-0 Japan

    Stephen Warnock

There's a real team collective about Japan and how they want to play. I think Brazil are a slow team in possession, they're going to have to speed up so they don't get caught on the ball.

  16. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Brazil 0-0 Japan

Brazil have a free-kick and a chance to deliver the ball into the box.

But Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuzki, once again, is proactive in the box and dashes off the line to catch the delivery. He almost fumbles first time but has the ball safely in his gloves on the second attempt.

Former England forward on BBC Radio 5 Live at Houston Stadium

I think we have all enjoyed how these games have been officiated. The referee's have been no nonsense. They're not putting up with dives, simulation and flapping.

We saw this the other night against Sweden. Japan's frontline isn't the tallest, but they're happy to go long and try to pick up second balls.

  18. Postpublished at 4 mins

Brazil probe again with Vinicius Jr looking to latch onto a ball over Japan's defence.

Japan has got a chance, if not a big one but there is a small chance.

    Sawako Ando, London

I thought Brazils defence weren't entirely convincing against a toothless Scotland the other night so will be interesting to see what a precise Japan team can do. That counterattacking high speed build up will put Brazil under pressure, we could be in for some game!

    Matt, Edinburgh

Such a shame that one of these sides has to go out so early. Think Japan are capable of causing Brazil serious problems, but will end up losing 2-1 or 3-1.
