  2. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 02:16 BST

This is by no means over...

Lamine Camera is teed-up on the edge of the box but leans back a bit to send his effort over Orjan Nyland's bar.

Ibrahim Mbaye has come on for Senegal, replaying Pape Gueye while Ismael Jakobs is on for El Hadji Malick Diouf.

He just manages to scoop the ball over the goalkeeper. A great finish. Nice and brave on the six yard box. And they're back into the game.

  4. goal

    Ismaila Sarr

    Game on?

Really good response as Ismaila Sarr shows brilliant strength to latch onto a flick from Sadio Mane in the box, hold off David Moller Wolfe and stretch to slam home into the roof of the net via a flick off keeper Orjan Nyland.

  5. 'You can't blame the goalkeeper for that one'published at 02:11 BST

    Norway 2-0 Senegal

Once Haaland got the opportunity to get into space it was just waiting for the right pass. You can't blame the goalkeeper for this one, fantastic finish.

Haaland will get one or two chances per game and you know he's going to score at least one.

  6. goal

GOAL: Norway 2-0 Senegalpublished at 48 mins

    Erling Haaland

    Devastating.

Senegal are on the attack in the Norway half but Martin Odegaard pounces on a loose pass and drives forward with players bombing on ether side of him.

Norway have four on two and Odegaard threads it left to Erling Haaland who waits for it to sneak past the sliding Kalidou Koulibaly before slamming a first-time shot past Edouard Mendy and into the top corner.

As slick a break as you'll see. Haaland has been watching Messi and Mbappe. That's 58 in 52 Norway games for him.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Norway 1-0 Senegal

Back under way. Senegal get us started.

They have to show a lot more in the second half, but no changes for them, however Norway have replaced Fredrik Aursnes with Patrick Berg in midfield.

    HT: Norway 1-0 Senegal

Just about enough time to have a go at our World Cup golden boot quiz.

Very appropriate, too, given the goalscoring exploits of the big stars so far. Two apiece for Messi and Mbappe this evening, can Haaland keep pace in the second half?

  9. A New York state of mindpublished at 02:00 BST

    HT: Norway 1-0 Senegal

    Quirky one for you.

This is Norway's 10th all-time match at the World Cup but the third to have been played here in East Rutherford, just over the Hudson from NYC.

Norway lost to Italy and drew against the Republic of Ireland in 1994, failing to score in both matches, so Marcus Pedersen has just made a little more history.

Here's how Group I looks now. Norway are 45 minutes from booking a knockout place too.

  11. 'Lots of entertaining stuff'published at 01:53 BST

    HT: Norway 1-0 Senegal

Slow burner and a little bit scrappy. Norway were dangerous but it's taken an error to score. Mendy should've done a lot better and kept that goal out.

Lots of entertaining stuff, I'm sure we will get a couple more goals in the second half.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 01:50 BST

    Norway 1-0 Senegal

It could be 3-0 but Norway do at least have a deserved lead at the break.

Martin Odegaard spurned two good chances to open the scoring, being denied by Edouard Mendy on the second occasion, but Kalidou Koulibaly presented sub Marcus Pedersen with the chance to break the deadlock shortly before the break with a low shot which snuck through Mendy at his near post.

The keeper then almost gifted Erling Haaland a second, only for the Man City man to thud the post from an angle with the goal at his mercy.

Senegal have offered very little. As things stand Norway are joining France in the Round of 32 tonight.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 45+4 mins

    Norway 1-0 Senegal

So close to a second, and another gift.

Edouard Mendy is closed down by Erling Haaland and coughs up possession, only for Haaland to send an angled shot into the near post, when another touch would have given him a better angle,

Mendy clearly didn't watch Haaland's highlights from the Iraq game when he scored from a very similar moment.

The ball is then crossed back in from the left and Haaland's downward header is well saved by the keeper down to his right.

  14. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45+1 min

    Norway 1-0 Senegal

Into four added minutes at the end of the half.

Martin Odegaard spurns the chance to tee up a Norway second before Senegal break themselves and Ismaila Sarr hooks a tame effort into the arms of Orjan Nyland.

  15. 'A horrible attempt to stop that'published at 01:46 BST

    Norway 1-0 Senegal

Mendy what are you doing? An awful error, I think that is a sign age is catching up to him with a mistake like that. Panic stations and the cover wasn't there.

That was a horrible attempt to stop that from Mendy. Two errors from two of their most experienced players. Now they've got a mountain to climb.

  16. goal

GOAL: Norway 1-0 Senegalpublished at 43 mins

    Marcus Pedersen

    A GIFT.

Kalidou Koulibaly inexplicably passes the ball straight to Norway sub Marcus Pedersen just outside the box after a Norway break breaks down.

The right-back drives into the box before firing in a low shot which sneaks past Edouard Mendy at his near post.

He got a touch but couldn't prevent it creeping in.

That's Pedersen's first international goal, and what a time to get it.

A lovely ball to Haaland into the box. Straight into the knee of the goalkeeper who came out and closed down the box. A great save.

The two best chances of the game have fallen to Odegaard.

  19. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Norway 0-0 Senegal

We've seen teasing crosses flashed across goal at both ends, with latest from Sander Berge is just a couple of yards too far ahead of Erling Haaland in the mixer, who looks to the heavens.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 37 mins

    Norway 0-0 Senegal

    Brilliant football.

Antonio Nusa's ranging cross from the left is cushioned by Erling Haaland back across goal for Martin Odegaard.

The Arsenal man takes the ball on his chest and unleashes a low half-volley which is brilliantly blocked by the sprawling Edouard Mendy.

    Wonderful chance goes begging, however.
