After a piece of magic from Martin Boyle, you'd expect another couple of goals.

There has to be a stage where you manage the game, keep the ball and take everything away from the opposition - Hibs didn't do that.

They lacked a bit of intensity and looked easy to play through at times. Against better opposition, you will be punished.

There were lots of positives though. Owen Elding looked fantastic at times, but can he be more ruthless in front of goal?

Martin Boyle showed he's still the go-to man, Nathan Lowe had a solid game - he was combative and would be disappointed he didn't get another goal or two.

Owen Elding, Nathan Lowe and Martin Boyle were all on target, with David Gray saying: "We have really good options and I always want us to be flexible. Nathan gives us that focal point so you can vary the way we play around that."

Hibernian head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "We should have been out of sight with the chances we created. The players fully deserved the win and I'm delighted for them."

It's important to stress that Hibs were without Jamie McGrath, Nicky Cadden and Callum Wright - a creative trio who would have been licking their lips about playing in a game like that.

Hibs are through, that was the object of the exercise, but I just thought it could have been better.

They did their work early and got the fans behind them but I'd like to have seen a few more goals, given their dominance and given the ordinariness of Malisheva, to give themselves a real boost.

But we've had plenty of bad nights for Scottish teams in Europe - and this is a good one.

Hibs did fizzle out a bit when they withdrew Martin Boyle and Josh Mulligan on 63 minutes, but there must have been a few tired legs after the effort shown in the first half.

A flying start really paid dividends as they quickly clawed their way back from a 2-0 first-leg deficit.

Will that high-tempo, direct style be deployed when Motherwell come to Easter Road on Sunday or will it be a cagier affair?

Motherwell were the only Premiership side Hibs failed to beat last season.

Next Thursday is going to be very, very busy, with Hearts away to Benfica in Europa League qualifying and Rangers in Poland against Jagiellonia Bialystok in the same competition.

Hibs and Motherwell go through to harder tests against Shkendija and HJK Helsinki.

Hibs are at home next Thursday and Motherwell are away.

Before that, they meet each other at Easter Road on Sunday.

The way this game petered out for Hibs, I'd imagine David Gray will be unhappy with how the last 15 or 20 minutes have turned out.

Mission accomplished for Hibs.

Shkendija await in the third round of Conference League qualifying.

After a terrible first leg in Kosovo, the Edinburgh side got their act together in a whirlwind 35 minutes, scoring three goals and hitting the crossbar twice.

Martin Boyle made it 4-0 before the hour but a series of missed chances and a late screamer for Malisheva made it more nervy that it should have been.

Malisheva get everyone up for a free-kick but the ref blows for a foul on Owen Elding almost immediately.

His next act is to show a card to a visiting player sarcastically applauding the decision.

Chris Cadden sends in a dangerous cross but a sliding Thibault Klidje can't provide the killer touch right in front of goal.

The Hibs sub is complaining that he was pulled back but the ref is having none of it.

Owen Elding is guilty of a bad miss, tamely shooting at the goalkeeper when played clean through by Thibault Klidje.

Thibault Klidje comes off the Hibs bench, replacing Nathan Lowe for the last 10 minutes or so.
