Barnsley assistant head coach Richard Keogh has left following Daniel Stendel's return to the club.

Former Republic of Ireland international defender Keogh, 39, was appointed assistant to Conor Hourihane last May.

Hourihane left at the end of this season and Stendel, who previously led the team between 2018 and 2019, has been appointed in his place.

"My time here has been a fantastic learning experience. I will continue to support Barnsley and wish the team and fans all the success in the future," Keogh told the club website., external

The Tykes said that news on Stendel's coaching staff "will be communicated in due course".
