Gillingham sign Saints keeper Wright on loan

Gillingham have signed goalkeeper Ollie Wright on a season-long loan from Southampton.

The 23-year-old has been part of Saints' age grade academy set-up since 2012 but has yet to make a first-team appearance.

Wright has had loan spells with National League sides Yeovil Town and Solihull Moors and, most recently, with the Gills' fellow League Two outfit Accrington Stanley during 2025-26, keeping 12 clean sheets in 47 games.

"I'd like to say I am quite commanding, coming for crosses and taking the pressure off the back line," Wright told the club website.
