  1. That's a wrap...published at 19:13 BST 2 May

We have been some interruptions for bad light and the odd bit of rain on day two of the fourth round of matches.

But some brilliant individual performances have shone through the gloom.

Kiran Carlson scored a maiden double hundred, and Ricardo Vasconcelos, Ryan Higgins, Dom Sibley made fine centuries.

With the ball there have been seven wickets for Ben Green and five-fers from Olly Stone and Ben Raine.

A few draws look in the offing but at least three of the seven matches look to be heading for a result.

So meet us in the usual place and we can go through this all again in the morning from 10:45 BST.

  2. Close of play at Southamptonpublished at 18:49 BST 2 May

    Hants 58-0 v Glam 536-7d

Hants reply has been interrupted not once but twice by bad light and rain and remains in the foothills in comparison to Glamorgan's mountainous total.

But the hosts will take comfort from the relative ease with which Toby Albert and Nick Gubbins negotiated the first 16 overs of their innings.

Their partnership of 58 is the best for Hants (first innings) this season so far following opening stands of one against Essex and Yorkshire and 25 against Somerset.

Talking of runs and stands, Kiran Carlson's magnificent 209, his highest first class score, and Zain-ul-Hassan's 143, a maiden first class century, helped Glam pile on the runs earlier.

The pair shared 318 for the second wicket was a game-changer.

The fact that Tom Prest's occasional spin took the most wickets (two) with just seven overs when Glam were trying to accelerate towards the declaration says much about how difficult it was for the bowlers.

  3. 'A solid Hampshire opening'published at 18:46 BST 2 May

    Hants 58-0 v Glam 536-7d

I have to say, and I don't want to put the mockers on this, but this is a solid opening partnership as I've seen from two Hampshire players for a while.

There's been some lovely boundaries hit off the front and back foots by both players.

Toby Albert through the covers mainly and Nick Gubbins with some lovely drives and a couple cut shots.

  4. 'It's testing for supporters'published at 18:41 BST 2 May

    Hants 54-0 v Glam 536-7d

    Rob Phillips
    BBC Radio Wales commentator

It's testing for supporters when you've got a long rain delay, then a few overs, then bad light and then you think in the end, do we really need to be late for our supper on a Saturday night?

  5. Postpublished at 18:40 BST 2 May

    Hants 54-0 v Glam 536-7d

Nick Gubbins has taken a liking late in the day to Ryan Hadley with four fours in the last two overs off the bowling of the Glam seamer.

He may not look too enthused about coming out again but he is starting to enjoy himself with the left-hander moving to 37 from 39 balls.

  6. 'It's a bit sparse'published at 18:39 BST 2 May

    Hants 50-0 v Glam 536-7d

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

The one or two people here who have stuck it out may yet see something exciting. Who knows?

It's a bit sparse I think it's fair to say.

  7. Postpublished at 18:35 BST 2 May

    Just play at Southampton now.

  8. 'It's marginally brighter'published at 18:30 BST 2 May

    Hants 38-0 v Glam 536-7d

    Rob Phillips
    BBC Radio Wales commentator

I can't imagine Toby Albert and Nick Gubbins were too thrilled of the prospect of facing another 5.3 overs, but here we are again.

    It's marginally brighter here.

  9. Close of play at Grace Roadpublished at 18:29 BST 2 May

    Leics 220-8 (trail by 270) v Notts 490

Stephen Eskinazi (44) and Ajaz Patel (38) have put on 74 for the ninth wicket with their partnership proving a medium-sized irritation for Notts.

Having got Leics wilting at 146-8 they will now have to return in the morning and possibly wait for the new ball to break final resistance.

Patel has played some shots with seven boundaries and Eskinazi is comfortably top scorer and while the Foxes still trail by 270 they will be feeling slightly better about themselves tonight.

The day's best performance undoubtedly belongs to Olly Stone who has taken his first fivefer in a Notts jumper finishing with 5-41 from 15.2 overs.

The Foxes could yet pick up a batting bonus point or two possibly.

One negative for Notts was the absence of Brett Hutton who pulled up with an injury. He will have a scan overnight and could yet be substituted from the match but no official word as yet.

  10. Back under way at Southamptonpublished at 18:26 BST 2 May

    Hants 38-0 v Glam 536-7d

Against the odds the teams are back out to complete five and a half overs and bring day two to a close.

  11. 'Not many breaks during this partnership'published at 18:25 BST 2 May

    Leics 219-8 v Notts 490

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Most things went for Notts in the early part of this innings, edges went to hand, but during this partnership there has been any little breaks at all that have gone to Ajaz Patel and Stephen Eskinazi.

  12. Postpublished at 18:24 BST 2 May

    Leics 219-8 v Notts 490

Last over of the day at Uptonsteel Grace Road and Lyndon James has Stephen Eskinazi in his sights and six shots at removing him.

  13. Close of play at the County Groundpublished at 18:14 BST 2 May

    Northants 366-5 v Worcestershire 306 – Northants lead by 60 runs

That's it at Northampton too - the rain arrived later here so not too many overs have been lost - and although the forecast is a bit mixed for the next two days it's not looking like a washout so a positive result is still possible.

  14. Close of play at the Kia Ovalpublished at 18:03 BST 2 May

    Surrey 292-2 v Sussex 358-9 dec – Surrey trail by 66 runs

As is the case at a fair few of our games, the rain has beaten us and there will be no further play today.

Dom Sibley will resume on 116 tomorrow morning, alongside Ollie Pope on 14, weather permitting.

Earlier, Rory Burns made 77 and Ryan Patel 67 and they were the only dismissals for Sussex's hard-working bowlers today.

  15. Bad light stops playpublished at 18:01 BST 2 May

    Hants 38-0 v Glam 536-7d

It looks very gloomy at the Utilita Bowl and the umpires have taken them off four overs after the restart.

Hants were understandably not keen to carry on and the covers are going on with a bit of rain in the air for good measure.

That is likely to be it for the day but it has not been called officially yet.

  16. Close of play at Lord'spublished at 17:56 BST 2 May

    Middx 430 v Durham 135-1

Emilio Gay will have no further opportunity to embellish his growing reputation with the umpires and weather effectively calling time on this contest.

Play will resume tomorrow with Durham trailing their hosts by 295 with nine wickets still in tact.

One of them is the current leading scorer in Division Two, Gay, who has 75 from 80 balls in company with Ben McKinney, unbeaten on 46.

It looked to be Middlesex's day but Durham have looked largely unruffled in reply and have bitten a decent chunk off the chase already.

  17. Close of play at Lord'spublished at 17:54 BST 2 May

    Middlesex 430 v Durham 135-1

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

The rain has duly arrived in St John's Wood and the umpires have made a speedy decision to call it off for the day, with the players leaving the field just after 5.30pm.

It's now rather wet and windy.

  18. Postpublished at 17:50 BST 2 May

    Hants 26-0 v Glam 536-7d

Seven runs added since the restart at a gloomy Utilita Bowl with Toby Albert (13) and Nick Gubbins (13) resuming where they left off before tea.

There are 14 overs left in the day and Hants still trail by 510.

  19. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 17:32 BST 2 May

    Middx 430 v Durham 135-1

Drizzle forces the players from the middle with the strip and the bowlers run ups are being covered.

  20. Postpublished at 17:30 BST 2 May

    Hants 19-0 v Glam 536-7d

We have movement with the outer covers removed and bowlers warming up on the square.

It still looks a bit gloomy but the plan is to start again at 17:40 BST.
