    It started so well for Ireland with Mark Adair taking three wickets and Test debut Liam McCarthy dismissing Kane Williamson to leave the tourists on 4-86.

    But a 217-run partnership between centurions Rachin Ravindra and Tom Blundell turned the game in New Zealand's favour and they are in a healthy position going into day two.
