Somerset 201-3 v Yorkshire 162 - Somerset lead by 39 runs
A wonderful partnership of 166 between centurion Josh Thomas (136*) and Tom Abell (41*) has put Somerset well in the driving seat at the end of day one.
They did struggle a little early in the innings, losing three wickets with only 35 on the board but the current pair have been excellent since coming together to give the hosts a healthy lead with seven wickets in hand.
Earlier we saw an astonishing Yorkshire collapse after a promising start which took them to 115-3 at lunch.
However they were skittled early after the interval, losing their final six wickets for 22 runs, and are up against it already.
Somerset 200-3 v Yorkshire 162
Final over of the day coming up at Taunton as we approach 7pm.
Somerset 200-3 v Yorkshire 162
Somerset reach 200 runs in the penultimate over of the day.
Josh Thomas and Tom Abell are still going strong.
Surrey 19-0 v Sussex 358-9 dec
Rory Burns and Dom Sibley survive 10 overs of stern Sussex examination to make it into day two.
We've been treated to a brilliant opening day here with Sussex really struggling early on, from 0-1 and 92-7, to recording a remarkable 358-9 declared.
That was largely down to centuries from Jack Carson and Ollie Robinson.
It seems like an age ago now but we must also give huge credit to Surrey bowler Jordan Clark who was devastating in the morning session, taking five wickets.
Northants 40-0 v Worcs 306
That's a good final hour from Northants' openers Ricardo Vasconcelos and Luke Procter as they get through 14 overs unscathed.
Worcestershire's total of 306 was all down to an extraordinary last-wicket stand of 120 between Gareth Roderick and Olly Hannon-Dalby, but they'll want quick wickets in the morning.

Four slips in for the final over as Henry Crocombe fires himself up for a big late wicket.
Hants v Glam 353-1
Glamorgan will not have much better days than this.
Kiran Carlson's unbeaten 158 and a maiden first-class century from Zain ul Hassan, who is 131 not out, have delivered a 274-run stand for the second wicket.
For Hants, who won the toss and chose to bowl, this has been a sobering day. Sonny Baker was the pick of the bowlers but had no luck.
Scott Currie might have had a wicket when ul Hassan was caught on 29 only to have overstepped. it was that sort of day for Hants.
Somerset 187-3 v Yorkshire 162
Great stuff from these two as the lead moves on to 25.
Six overs remaining in Taunton.
Leics v Notts 405-4
Image source, ShutterstockA couple of edges which could well have gone to hand or to stump in the final over of the day sent down by Ben Green and a shout for a stumping to close.
But it is Notts' day as they manage to notch a fourth batting bonus point.
After being put in they have accumulated steadily, then quickly, and always relentlessly with Haseeb Hameed the only casualty in the morning session.
Ben Duckett made a brisk 77 then Joe Clarke (80*) and Ben Slater (178) piled on the runs either side of tea before a couple of wickets from Green turned it ever so slightly back in the hosts direction.
Racking up 400 plus after being put in and losing only four wickets including a nightwatchman makes it Notts' day but it is easy to sympathise with Leicestershire who looked at a green tinged pitch and thought bowling was the best option.
They need wickets to fall quickly in the morning on day two if they are to cut a foothold in this contest.
Surrey 15-0 v Sussex 358-9 dec
Lots of probing but no breakthrough yet for Sussex at the Kia Oval where there are four overs left in the day.
Surrey duo Dom Sibley and Rory Burns will just look to stay in tonight and come back again in the morning.
Kent 352 v Derbyshire 24-0
Daniel Bell-Drummond's 129 helped Kent recover from 147-5 to post 352 all out on day one.
Rory Haydon starred with the ball for Derbyshire, taking 5-82, before openers Harry Came and Caleb Jewell took them through five overs to stumps.
Somerset 180-3 v Yorkshire 162
The hosts have motored passed Yorkshire's first innings total to take the lead in Taunton.
Josh Thomas is on 123 not out and Tom Abell is unbeaten on 33 with their partnership approaching 150.
The pair have taken Somerset from a wobble on 35-3 into a growing lead.
Surrey 11-0 v Sussex 358-9 dec

Image source, BBC SportThe partnership of 173 between Ollie Robinson and Jack Carson fell just five runs short of the all time Sussex ninth wicket record set in 1930 by Wensley and Parks at Horsham against Derbyshire.
The Sussex historians are also searching to see whether numbers nine and 10 have both scored 100s for Sussex in the same innings.
Either way, a wonderful partnership and Sussex for the second week in a row have the lower middle order come to the rescue.
Middlesex 272-6 v Durham
Image source, ShutterstockJust about honours even on day one at Lord's.
Durham did well to take six wickets under clear skies, but half-centuries from Sam Robson, Max Holden and an unbeaten 57 from Ryan Higgins have given Middlesex the chance of posting a decent first-innings score.

A first century for Josh Thomas, 21-years-old from Taunton. He takes off his helmet, he lifts his bat acknowledge the cheers and applause from all around the ground.
A new young star is born in Somerset cricket.
He's faced a top-class attack in a situation where Somerset desperately needed the runs.
It's been an outstanding innings!
Stone c Patel b Green 0 (Leics v Notts 380-4)
So the nightwatchman has lost his wicket as Olly Stone lasts eight balls.
It is a regulation edge which is taken at slip by Ajaz Patel and Notts now revert to the batting order with Jack Haynes coming out with 4.2 overs remaining.
Surrey 3-0 v Sussex 358-9 dec
Rory Burns and Dom Sibley know a thing or two about scoring County Championship runs and get Surrey going in their reply to Sussex.
We have about eight overs remaining today.
Leics v Notts 380-3
Josh Davey, who went down in the outfield and clearly pulled something just before tea, has been replaced or subbed out of this match with Tom Scriven taking his place.
No update yet on what afflicted the Scotland international.
Somerset 150-3 v Yorkshire 162
Image source, ShutterstockA couple of fours take Josh Thomas to his century from 109 balls.
He and Tom Abell (26*) both look well set and have added 118 together.
These two have moved Somerset's score to almost level terms with Yorkshire.
