So easy. Mishara trying to use his feet to find the boundary. There was no turn, a straightforward delivery, not finding the timing.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.5 overs

    Mishara c Overton b Jacks 2 (SL 39-2)

Will Jacks gets a wicket in his first over. Harry Brook has his off-spinner on at this end to turn the ball away from side of the ground made shorter by the wind. Kamil Mishara tries to send it that way as expected, but doesn't get enough on it to clear long-on. Jamie Overton takes a simple catch.

Shame that James Coles didn't make the team sheet. Surely an ideal opportunity to blood him into the international arena seeing as this match is a dead rubber.

    Baltos, St Leonards-on-Sea

  4. SL 33-1published at 4 overs

    Nissanka 20, Mishara 2

Liam Dawson spends the rest of his over trying his best to keep the ball as far from Nissanka's leg side without being called a wide. It's a good comeback.

Coming from the sub-continent, you can't come to Australia and England and let a spinner strangle you. Where are you going to score your runs, which bowlers are you going to put under pressure. That's a problem Sri Lanka have had.

  6. 6 runs

    SL 30-1published at 3.1 overs

Liam Dawson replaces Jofra Archer after Archer's expensive start but gets similar treatment from Pathum Nissanka first ball.

The wind is helping the slogs to the leg side here.

  7. SL 24-1published at 3 overs

Sonny Baker is having a decent series and nudges 90mph at the end of this over. He's been to the barbers since Thursday too. Sharp around the ears.

Shot was on. Lahiru Udara getting the top edge, that went so high. Buttler had to run back but he made it look so simple. It wasn't the distance, it was the height that would have made it difficult.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2.1 overs

    Udara c Buttler b Baker 10 (SL 22-1)

    Good catch.

Another top edge, another ball swirling in the breeze. Having called for it early, wicketkeeper Jos Buttler steadies himself and holds on. He looks a relieved man. It doesn't matter how you catch them...

Look at the breeze, how strong it is. The fielder wasn't sure whether the ball was going to come down on his head. The wind in Sri Lanka's favour.

  11. 6 runs

    SL 22-0published at 2 overs

This one is six! Pathum Nissanka top-edges a Jofra Archer bouncer but that strong breeze I mentioned carries the ball over the boundary at fine leg.

15 runs come from Archer's first over.

Udara's hands were very calm. He guided it over the slips, that's a good sign, the way he played that shot.

Jofra Archer is under pressure early after being hit for two fours by Lahiru Udara.

All in all it is a decent start from Sonny Baker, despite that boundary. Stephen Fleming is now watching on from the England balcony. He won't have any oversight over the T20 side but still has issues to solve with those all-format players.

  15. SL 5-0published at 0.3 overs

Pathum Nissanka gets Sri Lanka's first boundary by chopping through gully.

  16. How's stat?!published at 14:31 BST

Sri Lanka have won four of the 11 T20Is in which they batted first this year. That record is even worse when they bowled first, with just one win in six games.

  17. Postpublished at 14:30 BST

Sonny Baker is going to take the first over again for England. He plays here for Manchester Super Giants in The Hundred.

Harry Brook has spoken quite clearly about how he wants to play. He wants them to be adaptable, he wants them to show intensity. They live at such a high intensity in the field that eventually other teams can't match that.

The two defeats really hurt. There were massive gaps, Sri Lanka were barely in the games. I've seen them play some good cricket, it's about finding the right mental zone to face a very good England team.

It's not only Sri Lanka, India came here and got bashed up.

Highlights: England take the series with six-wicket win

Tom Banton and Liam Dawson were England's best performers in Thursday's second T20. Sri Lanka batted marginally better than in the first match but there bowlers were then whacked around Cardiff...
