Have your say on England women this summer

  1. Ind 101-4published at 11 overs

India have held back Richa Ghosh with Deepti Sharma pushed up. Wickets are going to be key for England because India's run total has them in a decent position.

That is such smart bowling from Lauren Bell. Out of the back of the hand, perfectly executed. Jemimah Rodrigues is through her shot so early, she's really frustrated, slapping her bat as she walks off.

A really timely wicket for England.

    Rodrigues b Bell 29 (Ind 100-4)

Brilliantly bowled! Lauren Bell is pulled for four by Jemimah Rodrigues but bowls her with a superb slower ball with very next delivery. It loops up out of the back of the hand and completely does for Rodrigues.

Bell has not been at her best today but that was very, very good.

I’m calling it now - England aren’t going to get within 30 of whatever huge total India set.

Because of these big square boundaries, Harmanpreet Kaur immediately knows she can take on the arm of the deep fielder.

Ah. This is not Linsey Smith's over with two fours coming in it. Please still read the piece. It's good, I promise.

Here's that superb Sophie Ecclestone run-out...

India's batters have been more innovative against the quicks than England's this series, with India scoring 20% of their runs between third and fine leg compared to just 8% for England.

Linsey Smith is back. You'll be able to read a piece about her journey from her early debut, to years out of the side and now number two in the world rankings on these pages next week.

It's fantastic innovation from Jemimah Rodrigues with short third up in the ring. All she needed to do was get some bat on it and use the pace of the ball.

  11. Ind 82-3published at 9 overs

Rodrigues might be the best batter to watch in the women's game.

Now she shapes to scoop over her left shoulder before readjusting to put it over her right. The pulls Dani Gibson the next ball for four beyond the diving Linsey Smith too.

It looks glorious in Taunton with the ground bathed in evening sunshine but I'm reliably informed it's chilly.

Sophie Ecclestone spoils a good over by going too full. It allows Jemimah Rodrigues to squeeze the ball past short third for four.

This is England's chance to squeeze after those boundaries in the powerplay.

I don't know whether Bhatia was being a little bit complacent there. A good innings, but she'll think was that necessary? She was striking the ball so well, did she need to take that run?

Sophie Ecclestone picked up, aimed, hit! That could be a big moment in the game. A dead-eye throw.

    How about that!

Sophie Ecclestone with a direct hit from mid-off to run out Yastika Bhatia. After all of the talk about England's fielding over recent months, that will make England and Charlotte Edwards feel very good.

    Bhatiaq 32, Rodrigues 3

Another four to end the over as Yastika Bhatia thwacks a sweep straight back towards the umpire. It's almost like that retired out dismissal has given Bhatia a kick up the backside.

That over means India have had the better of the powerplay.

Charlie Dean is having an exceptional summer so far against left-handers, conceding just 32 runs from 46 deliveries bowled at them while taking four wickets.

  19. Ind 53-2published at 5.4 overs

What an extraordinary shot. And I don't mean it in a good way.

Yastika Bhatia gets four to fine leg while falling over when playing a sweep.

The next shot is more conventional over mid-on.

  20. Ind 45-2published at 5 overs

    Bhatia 20, Rodrigues 3

We have seen in this series, India appear keen to attack Sophie Ecclestone early on. There's one four on the sweep in this over but England's premier spinner comes back well.
