    Lancs 44-5 v Kent 178

We all know what that wicket for Kent means...

In comes Liam Livingstone for his first County Championship innings for Lancashire in almost five years.

They need something big from him here with five wickets gone for just 44.

    Harris c Northeast b Mahmud 3 (Lancs 44-5 v Kent 178)

Bangladesh fast bowler Hasan Mahmud has his first wicket for Kent!

Marcus Harris nibbles at one outside off stump and it finds the edge of his bat.

It flies towards the slip cordon and Sam Northeast does very well to react quickly and take the catch low down.

    Notts 5-1 v Somerset 310

First boundary of the Notts innings as Freddie McCann drives outside off from Alfie Ogborne.

It goes further square of the wicket than he'd planned but they all count.

  4. Postpublished at 11:50 BST

    Sussex 172-3 v Glamorgan 155

"Relatively sedate this morning, one or two nice shots," says BBC Radio Wales Sport's Nick Webb.

Sedate was certainly the word for Daniel Hughes' batting thus far - he has nine runs in 49 minutes this morning, but then suddenly launches into a cover drive off Tom Norton and that's four.

    Snater b Davey 0 (Leics v Essex 371-9)

Shane Snater can be a dangerous lower order hitter but not today he won't be as Josh Davey angles one in from wide on the crease and knocks his off stump out of the ground.

Essex coach Chris Silverwood called for his side to back up a good day yesterday with another today but so far they have let him down losing 4-29 inside the first hour.

  6. 50 runs

    Yorkshire 458-8 v Warwickshire

This is going very much to plan for Yorkshire as George Hill and Hasan Ali complete a fifty stand for the ninth wicket.

It will be a test for Warwickshire once they get in to bat after chasing the ball around all morning.

    Notts 1-1 v Somerset 310

Freddie McCann scampers through for a quick single for Nottinghamshire's first run of the innings off the final ball of Lewis Gregory's over.

    Notts are 1-1 from one.

  8. wicket

    Hameed c Vaughan b Gregory 0 (Notts 0-1 v Somerset 310)

Wow. What a start this is for Somerset and Nottinghamshire skipper Haseeb Hameed is gone for a four-ball duck.

Lewis Gregory lures Hameed into an off-drive and he edges it straight to Archie Vaughan at third slip.

Cat well and truly amongst the pigeons at Trent Bridge.

  9. 6 runs

    for McDermottpublished at 11:46 BST

    Lancs 30-4 v Kent 178

Big hit from Ben McDermott as he latches onto a short one from Hasan Mahmud, who is bowling his first over for Kent.

McDermott sends it high over square leg and all the way for six.

450 up for Yorkshirepublished at 11:46 BST

    Yorkshire 455-8 v Warwickshire

George Hill scores his second boundary of the over off Keith Barker to bring up the 450.

It's the first time Yorkshire have secured five batting points this season.

They've previously passed 450 against Sussex and Surrey but not quickly enough to earn maximum bonus points.

    Notts 0-0 v Somerset 310

Fergus O'Neill's 6-72 for Nottinghamshire was his career-best bowling performance.

Now it's time for the batters to get to work for the defending champions.

Lewis Gregory has ball in hand for the first over for Somerset and Notts skipper Haseeb Hameed will face it, with his opening partner Ben Slater at the other end.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11:43 BST

    Potts c Guest b Potts 36 (Durham 322-8 v Derbyshire)

It had to be, didn't it.

Matthew Potts tries to on-drive namesake Nick and edges through to wicketkeeper Brooke Guest.

Potts put on 58 for the eighth wicket with Ben Raine, who has now been joined by Callum Parkinson.

  13. Women's One-Day Cup updatepublished at 11:42 BST

Second-placed Surrey are going well against group leaders The Blaze - they lost Alice Monaghan for 49 but are 93-1 in the 18th over at Beckenham.

Hampshire are 112-1 after 18 against Somerset, with Maia Bouchier 45 not out, and Durham have reached 94-2 in the 19th against Essex.

Winless Warwickshire are batting against Lancashire and Meg Austin is 47 not out out in their 75-2.

  14. Sixes from Alipublished at 11:41 BST

    Yorkshire 442-8 v Warwickshire

Hasan Ali launches the first two balls of an Ed Barnard over down the ground for successive sixes.

Barnard ensure his former team mate can't emulate Sir Garfield Sobers by bowling the next delivery down the leg side.

    Cox c Cox b Davey 204 (Leics v Essex 371-8)

Josh Davey has got one to spit up off the track and it is clipped something on the way through to Ben Cox who takes a great grab low to his right.

Jordan Cox clutches his upper arm as he rests on his knees in the crease with replays not really convincing.

From behind it looks like it hits his arm but from the front (and the view of the umpire to be fair) it looks as if it clips his glove.

Either way, Cox's innings is over.

  16. Postpublished at 11:39 BST

    Durham 321-7 v Derbyshire

Martin Andersson overpitches and Matthew Potts hits it dead straight, back over the umpire's head, for four runs. Potts moves on to 35 not out and Ben Raine has 31.

  17. Postpublished at 11:39 BST

    Lancs 30-4 v Kent 178

Ben McDermott and Marcus Harris have the big task of rebuilding this Lancashire innings, otherwise we could be in for a fairly low-scoring contest.

Liam Livingstone to come next for the hosts of course, and he will be batting for the first time in the County Championship since 2021.

  18. Postpublished at 11:35 BST

    Notts v Somerset 310

So, Somerset were only able to add another 15 runs to their overnight score for the final three wickets.

Notts will likely be happier with their morning's work as Archie Vaughan is left high and dry on 66 not out.

It has taken him 35 minutes to add the two runs he needed at the start of play, but Daniel Hughes reaches 50 off 129 balls with a single off Ryan Hadley.

It's the fifth time he has done so this season - and two of the previous four were converted into hundreds.

If Hughes does so again today, Sussex will be in a very strong position indeed in this game.

  20. wicket

SOMERSET ALL OUT FOR 310published at 11:32 BST

    Ogborne lbw b O'Neill 0 (Notts v Somerset 310)

    And that is that!

Full, fast and straight once more from Fergus O'Neill to trap number 11 Alfie Ogborne in front.

O'Neill takes 6-72 from 23 overs and Somerset are all out for 310. Time will tell if that's a decent first innings score or not.
