Despite disheartening news overnight, Leicestershire will be happy with that performance in the morning session.

They've taken four wickets, and Ian Holland and Ben Green bowled beautifully with the new ball, getting the ball to seam and move around on a pitch that has rediscovered its life.

The issue, perhaps, is that they didn't quite have the firepower to back up that solid opening spell.

Hampshire added just 61 runs in 29 overs, which is pretty slow-going. They'll hope to get beyond 300 - a real psychological barrier for Leicestershire in their chase, and push on from there.

There is plenty of time for a chase, mind.
